See the INCREDIBLE indictment Bob Somerby has drawn up on that fucking idiot Chris "Huntin for Squirrel" Matthews!

Oh and Bob exposes Tom Blowhard Brokaw for the lying asshole he is, TOO!

3. I don't think they will
unless Bush sucks to high heaven. They will try to give Bush all the aid they can.

5. Same strategy as the first.
Even if chimpy were to get up there and shit his pants, the media would spin it as he's trying as hard as he can. They need to keep alive the myth of a close race to sell papers and newscasts.

Kerry/Edwards Landslide.
Believe it.

6. They called it a draw after the last Bush disaster!
How can they NOT call it a bush win even if he curls up into a fetal position and starts sucking his thumb this time?

Seriously, even if he shit his pants tonight on stage, they'll still call it a Bush win because nobody has smellavision!

7. Probably not
I think that Bush will probably be nice tonight in contrast to that last debate. Of course it'll look totally artificial but it's his fault for being such an asshole last time. If (well, when) Bush loses, they will try to spin it as a draw. Guaranteed.

8. ... the question is will WE let the media
Edited on Fri Oct-08-04 12:59 PM by m_welby
..give it to bush?

We (I know most here will already do all they can) need to push the media hard to counteract the rightward spin. They need to be FORCED to spin our way

The media will spin for bush either because their corporate masters tell them to or because they have to keep the horse race tight (depending on the media in question).

"you dont change horses in midstream by beating a dead horse during a horse race." - future bushism from GW's last (ever) debate.

9. Friday Night Debate Dump...
I'm not sure, but I hope there's a live TDS tonight right after the debates...plus whatever screw ups will make it into an SNL skit pronto.

I'm sure the regime wanted the Friday date like they enjoy using this day for a document dump...hoping most people are pre-occupied with the weekend to concern themselves with details. The late hour will mean the cable-pundits will get about an hour to chomp it up, and then won't get another crack until Monday.

The first place there'll be a response will be the Sunday shows...ones this regime is sure to cover like flies on shit with their best spinners. If there's internals that show Bunnypants didn't screw up too bad, it's gonna be so thick we're gonna sufficate. If he loses again, then it'll be another "this is what he really meant..." ass-covering session.

Unless they're working the weekend (work? weekend? miss drinkie drinkie parties??) most the telepundits won't get to touch this debate until it's already been spun by the "pros".

10. Fuckin' A. I didn't even want to admit this but
i fear you're right. Thinking many in the media already have their "much better performance by the chimp tonight" storyline drafted. The bar is set so fucking low, it would be hard for them not to. Bastards. Hope they prove me wrong.
