Let's drop the assumption that they had NO PLAN for Iraq |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-08-04 12:54 PM by grasswire
All of the happenings in Iraq point to one conclusion.
The strategic plan of the neo-con WH was not to win peace and stability in Iraq.
The strategic plan was to initiate chaos, and allow continued chaos.
If there had been a quick military win, a real transfer of power, progress in reconstruction, a smooth election, the real strategic goals of Bushco would have been denied.
Instead, the decisions made by Bush's administration have facilitated chaos. Chaos insures American presence. American presence insures military spending. Military spending insures rewards for the profiteers who drive Bush policy.
The argument that Bush made mistakes in the war against Iraq is revealed as flawed. There were no "mistakes."
All along, they planned to allow chaos. All along, the plotters at the top knew there were no WMD. All along, they planned a "generational" presence in Iraq. All along, they planned to LOSE in order to stay.

3. I'm reluctant to agree that they are that stupid, but.... |
|
I was also shocked to see the US military watch mass looting, revenge killings, and no care for infrastructure and documents other than the Oil Ministry.
I have thought their 'plan' was more like this:
1. Invade Iraq. 2. Iraqi population throws roses to our feet. 3. US sets up a few nice big air bases out in the desert and forces Iraq to take a meager 'lease fee' for these bases for 99 years.
(second Bush administration)
4. US dominates the region including Iran. 5. If Iran doesn't immediately capitulate to US demands, then do the same thing to them. 6. Lift term limits.

6. oh, I don't believe they are stupid |

The whole fuss over post-war second-guessing doesn't bother them a bit. They have achieved their strategic goal. America is bogged down in the Middle East.

4. Either Congress was totally lazy and didn't read warnings re intelligence |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-08-04 01:36 PM by KoKo01
which John Conyers alludes to about not reading "Patriot Act" shown in "F9/11" in his interview. That's hard to believe that they are that lazy, but given some of the legislation that has been passed, it's conceivable they just went along not knowing what they were doing.
But,I can't understand why so many of us here and all over the internet knew the info was faulty and Robert Byrd and Teddy Kennedy and some others knew something was up with "the rush" to invade but it was voted for. And, amendments put in by Hillary and Levin trying to limit Bush's authority were voted down.
That's always been the mystery to me. Didn't Bush already have the authority to put the weapons inspectors back in? Yet Edwards and Kerry said they think they were giving him the "authority" but didn't think he would use it. That's still so confusing and I don't think we get the true answer.
Perhaps, the consensus by many in Congress was that putting bases in Iraq was a good thing...but when it got fouled up and wasn't as easy as they thought because the PNAC/Chalabi crowd pushed too hard and Rummy decided to "remake" the military to try out his new high tech toys like "precision bombing in instead of more "boots on the ground" their plans for easy transition were foiled. It started to go downhill because there were too many cooks in the kitchen with different recipes.

5. the most important goal.... |
|
...for Bushco was to break the egg.
Events were moving in a direction that would have prevented a U.S. move on Iraq.
They KNEW there were no WMD. They had to break the egg before the world knew it.
Once the egg was broken, America was committed for a generation, at least.
Bush didn't fail at his goals. He was put into power to break the egg. To invade Iraq and let chaos reign.

This is no error in judgment. This is their plan. The PNAC cabal is loving the "insurgence." These fucks are looting and pillaging each and every minute the faux war on terra goes on.
At this point the enemy is their friend (more reconstruction etc) this war is a SHAM and it makes me sick and disgusted.
The Bush family needs a DNA cleansing. Their seed is mutated beyond comprehension.

but I doubt many people will be convinced that this was all planned in the next few weeks before Election Day. "No plan" is more believable and simpler to explain that another conspiracy, even if it's true.
Remember, about half the population still thinks that Saddam helped with 9/11.

11. Or read the article in last month's Harper's |

about plans to use Iraq as a laboratory for their coldhearted ideas on "free market" (=robber baron) economics.
