Bush WILL come out firing fast with both barrels in the debate tonight...
Edited on Fri Oct-08-04 01:14 PM by LaPera

Lies & Aggressiveness!

Will the media expose his lies? Don't expect it.

Will Bush do better being aggressive? Probably, but anything will look better for Bush than his disastrous last debate.

Watch it on C-SPAN--it will be split screen when necessary, (since it's a different kind of forum tonight "Town Hall"). And you won't give the cable news channels the ratings by watching it on C-SPAN.

Remember to hit ALL the polls after the debate and to write & call-in to these right-wing slanted media outlets (CNN, ABC NBC, etc.)

It really does make a huge difference.

Kerry will do very well, he HAS to fire the big bombs at Bush!

2. Definitely!
Bush will be on fire, but Kerry knows that. Let's hope he's up to the task!

If I feel Kerry won in the slightest, I'll hit the polls hard tonight. If I feel he lost, well, we'll see.

3. Remember - there are no pledges of loyalty to sign at this debate
these will be real people on both sides and on top of the fence. Kerry performs really well in these environments - bush won't be prepared for the real questions.

6. Sorry, but Gallup (of the pro-Bush poll fame) is going to select...
the "undecideds" tonight. Bill O'Reilly calls himself an undecided, and I wouldn't be surprised to find tonight's audience filled with pro-Bush "undecideds".

And then, Charles Gibson of ABC gets to filter those questioners.

I would love to see Bush have to answer real questions. Tonight won't be it.

11. I'm expecting the questions to be stacked in Bush's favor
A dream of mine would be for Kerry to get a confrontational question..handle it brilliantly...then the person wants a followup but the moderator says they can't and Kerry says,"No..let the man/woman speak."

14. I'm betting Bush is rehearsing his responses to "tough questions"...
even as I type. I further bet that Kerry's questions will be 5s on a 0-to-5 toughness scale.

Ask yourself: "Would ABC shill for Bush"?

18. "SET UP! SET UP!"
I too would love to see Kerry push to let a critic speak. He's demonstrated that he's eager to confront such critics over and over. It would play wonderfully, I think, if it happened in the debate.

On the other hand, don't you just know the freaks would be screaming it was a total set up to make Kerry look good? Which would make it even more satisfying for me, frankly.

9. No -- these are all "undecideds"
And all of the questions will be vetted by the moderator beforehand.

You tell me what kind of a person is still "undecided" about Bush vs. Kerry.

21. According to a Gallup spokesman on NPR
They tried to fill the room with undecideds and couldn't find any. They then were willing to accept "leans" if they were willing to reconsider. They did their screening by using their regular poll questions. People answering didn't know they were being considered for attendance.

25. Wrong - the debate agreement stipulates NO undecideds
The Bushies wouldn't agree to just "undecided" voters for the second debate, so the agreement specifies the audience will be "soft supporters" of both candidates. If there's a way for Rove to rig it, he will.

7. Can't Wait!
Dumya meets REAL Americans! I have every confidence in John Kerry; I know he'll do well. And I'm definitely watching it on C-SPAN (and turning the TV off as soon as the debate's over!).:bounce:

8. This forum is to address concerns of voters
Kerry would be wise to concentrate on answering the voter's concerns, and not try to turn each question into an attack on Bush.

Bush has nothing to do but attack Kerry and lie, so it will provide a good contrast.

Kerry will come out looking mature and Bush petty.

12. Our "friends" are already starting to worry.....
DNC Soucre(sic): Rumor that Radicals Have Penetrated Town Hall Debate

In a not-too-surprising development, Democrats and their allies in the more radical elements of political activism believe they have penetrated the town hall forum and will be represented in the audience of so-called “swing voters” at tonight’s debate.

According to the Gallop organization, who was responsible for selecting the voters in tonight’s debate audience, the participants may have opinions about the candidates. They may be leaning to one candidate or the other. But they must also have told a Gallup representative that they might still vote for the other guy. The participants were chosen at random through phone interviews conducted by Gallop.

But what about people who lie? According to one source inside the Democrat National Committee, rumors are circulating around Washington, DC that certain liberal groups prepared all of their St. Louis members to exaggerate and even lie in their phone interviews, if they happened to have been contacted by Gallup, in order to get into the town hall as an audience member. These same organizations are privately signaling to the Democrat National Committee that they succeeded in getting some of their members into the forum disguised as “swing voters.” It’s important to note our source did not know which liberal interest groups orchestrated the effort to infiltrate the town hall format, but believes their were several groups working together.

19. Is there a tinfoil shortage?
These people really need to adjust their tinfoil hats or get back on their meds.

Gallop is raging right-wing organization. If the deck is stacked at all, it's stacked in Chimpy's favor.

16. Kerry needs this:
<snipped from www.dailykos.com>

Since everybody else is doing it, I have a line for Kerry to use in the debate. This line can render impotent all of Bush's expected attacks.

Kerry (after a Bush attack line): While I'm trying to talk about the issues that matter to the American people, George Bush is, once again resorting to stale attack lines. We already know what he's going to say. On the next question he'll call me flip-flopper. The question after that he'll say I'm inconsistant. The question after that he'll say I 'm against making the world safer. There, can we move on to the issues now?
