Paranoia strikes deep: question about absentee ballot
My elderly Dad -- a lifelong voting Democrat -- received an absentee ballot from the Republican party, with pictures of the flying monkeys they are running.

He;s old and has mobility problems, HATES Bush and really wants to vote his sorry ass out of office, but given all the shenanagins and dirty tricks we expect the brownshirts to pull, we are less than 100% confident that it will get into the right hands.

How can we be sure that his vote gets into legitimate hands, and that his clear vote for Kerry is counted authentically?

BTW -- has everyone made sure their registration is good? Better to check now that be told that you can't vote election day due to the crime of Breathing While Democrat.

1. I saw a C-Span book show about election fraud.
The guy who wrote the book, "Election Fraud" or something like that.

He said, among many other things, that absentee ballots are the prime, time-tested method of election fraud; it's so easy to change the vote, not deliver it, or other things. He mentioned this in the context of there being a lot of talk this year about absentee voting because of people being wary of the computer voting. Apparently, there may be a record number of absentee ballots cast this year.

He downplayed the effect of computer fraud.

But bear in mind that htis guy seemed like a Repub., and his statements about the computer voting seem to fly in the face of a recent report by a global election observation team that computer voting without paper backup for recounts, if necessary, is very objectionable in a democratic society (being a prime way to effect a total election fraud), but they did say that it was most dangerous when elections are handled centrally. In America, our elections are held by each state, so the central government doesn't have total control over it. Still,.....gives one pause.
