Another Debate Line for Kerry
"The last time a President named Bush decried a candidate from Massachusetts, we all know what happened. He flip-flopped.

I take issue with the President's attempt at character assassination. My constituents do not appreciate your smears and the dishonor with which you represent our beloved state. We are proud of our rich, historic tradition. We are proud of our role in bringing about independence.

I will not attack anyone who lives in your state because I will be a President who represents all states red, white, and blue. Conservatives and democrats.

I say this for a simple reason. You cannot win a war on terror if you divide..."

1. Bush is a Mass boy, he's not a real Texan, he's a ivy-league boy.
Kerry simply needs to remind Americans it's the pot calling the kettle black.

2. and another (from www.dailykos.com)
Since everybody else is doing it, I have a line for Kerry to use in the debate. This line can render impotent all of Bush's expected attacks.

Kerry (after a Bush attack line): While I'm trying to talk about the issues that matter to the American people, George Bush is, once again resorting to stale attack lines. We already know what he's going to say. On the next question he'll call me flip-flopper. The question after that he'll say I'm inconsistant. The question after that he'll say I 'm against making the world safer. There, can we move on to the issues now?

4. That's an exceptionally good tactic...
Innoculates him against any planned attacks and makes Bush look foolish if he tries...

3. Put this on the "what should Kerry say" thread
Edited on Fri Oct-08-04 01:47 PM by bain_sidhe
We're trying to make a thread with all the ideas in one place... that way, IF the campaign monitors DU (as some people think they do), it will be easy for them to find the lines/suggestions.

Ooops, forgot the link:

5. Great Line!
Here's mine: "Mr. President, how can you credibly say that you have done a good job of Protecting the American People from Terrorism when you were on VACATION for the entire month of August leading up to 911, despite being warned repeatedly of a growing terrorist threat? And then even after the horrors of 911 you have proceeded to take more vacations than any other president in American history?!?!?!

Deliver something like this during the debate and it’s Goodbye Smirk.

Most Americans have no clue about just how much vacation time This Bum has taken while in office. It will resonate Big Time.
