Star Trib: An Objective letter to the Editor (True Humor) |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-08-04 01:24 PM by Minnesota_Lib
The Minneapolis Star-Tribune printed the following objective letter-to-the-editor in Friday’s edition. They also printed the note below the letter (in bold).
www.startribune.com/stories/1519/5021719.html
Letter from the future
"The debate between John Edwards and Dick Cheney presented Americans with a stark choice.
"John Edwards shared a pessimistic vision for the next four years: Genuine cowardice in the war on terror. An economic plan that destroys jobs and keeps the people down. Health care plans designed to make lawyers rich. A plan to make America weaker at home and laughed at abroad.
"Dick Cheney had sound reason and a real vision based on unwavering values. As the architect of four years of Bush administration policies, Cheney had a lot to be proud of in this debate. John Edwards showed his ignorance of the issues. Instead attacking George Bush over and over again.
"I want a plan for the future, not attacks and ignorance. The vice presidential debate made it clear that George W. Bush and Dick Cheney are the right choice."
Daniel Olson of Springfield, Minn., in an e-mailed letter to the editor that arrived at 4:23 p.m. Tuesday, three hours and 37 minutes before the debate began.
______________
Apparently, Repug operative Daniel Olson got a bit trigger-happy: proof positive that the Republicans are trying to solidify their hold their the traditional idiot voting block by using idiots to plead their case.

3. Funny, funny, funny - haven't read the Strib yet today. |
|
I'll have to frame that.
Unfortunately, the St. Paul Pioneer Press would have just run the letter without comment. That rag has gone waaaayyyyy downhill. Sad, that's the paper of my childhood and I still feel the need to read it.
