Brought tears to my eyes. So well said. In my better moments I, too, pray that Bush and all connected with him will be stricken with oceans of true enlightenment and awareness of the consequences of their actions and then either change their behavior or get out of the way.

So often in the past four years I have felt like I was channelling one of the wrathful deities, but without the power! No power. Depressing and exhausting, as DUers know too well.

It was never my philosophy to ask for God/dess to get involved in human politics -- because I guess I've always thought s/he/they were beyond such pettiness as who wins a football game or who gets elected. George Bush talks about his god* all the time, and how he (Bush) wants us all to be praying. Okay, now he's got my attention -- I pray that all Bushites be simultaneously voted out of office in a free and fair election this November.

Everything our politicians do has a profound effect on the body of our Mother Earth and all Her children from algae to humans, and I think She's losing patience with our destructive ways.
