**** HIT THESE POLLS AFTER THE DEBATE (Updated 10:30AM ET) ****
Edited on Sat Oct-09-04 09:32 AM by Skinner
For tonight's presidential debate, we are once again posting a list of websites that have online polls. Please visit these websites and vote on each of these polls. If you find another poll, please post it in this thread so we can add it to the list.

IMPORTANT -- Tonight, we are going to do this a little differently than we did before. We are going to post the polls in the order that they are posted online. This will allow you to return to this thread over and over again and easily tell which polls are new. So, don't just visit the thread once and then leave forever. Instead, you should keep coming back to check for new polls.

THESE POLLS ARE ONLINE!
The polls below are listed in the order they are added. Remember to keep checking back to this thread to see when more polls come online.

4. Skinner, can you set up a separate thread for comments?. . .
Otherwise, as this thread grows during the evening, it will become increasingly time-consuming to load or refresh (especially for those with dial up connections). Maybe the link you pin to the top of the page can be sans comments, and another thread (pinned to the top of LBN forum) could be opened for comments and new polls.

Just a thought.

9. We turned the tide against the media for the two previous debates...
...we're going to do it again.

I hope nobody here is getting complacent. We know Kerry will kick Chimpy McCokeSpoon's ass from here to Freeperville, but the only way that perception will remain alive until Monday is if we fight the good fight all weekend long.

I sent out a long email earlier today with the link below to all the national and global polls. In the last three hours it's disappeared. Could you reinstate it, otherwise all the people I asked to poll will get dead links. Not good!

11. The freepers are claiming that we're putting up poll numbers
before the debate is even over.

I think that they're very confused. There were pre-debate polls that ask who you thought would win.

I indeed like the way your doing this Skinner and it is on the level all the way.

13. After they were spanked Tuesday, expect the fascists to be out in force
Stealing our poll lists, running bots to stuff online ballots, etc.

You'd think freeper fascists would have a big advantage--DU'ers are far fewer in number than the brownshirts--300,000+ freeper fascists to our less than 100k. Their willingness to use underhanded automated ballot-stuffing bots, typical "dump cache and vote again" freeper strategies, etc. would seem to make it hardly a level playing field.

Regardless of these challenges, the online polls were overwhelmingly in our favor Tuesday night. Will they continue to deny that online opinion is resolutely against freeperville? Will they admit that fascism is being rejected by rational adults who will be voting in November?

Watch the debate tonight, and do your duty in the online polls afterwards. The fascists will be doing all they can to salvage the campaign of their hopelessly overmatched puppet-boy.

We saw the real leader of the free world Tuesday night--and the people rose up and indicated that he wore no clothes. Let's slam the lid shut tonight and create the undeniable buzz that the tide has irrevocably turned away from fascism and toward freedom.

27. Not sure
if this will do any good. I understand that everything is rigged for tonight. That is the 'rumor'. The test was done on this poll:

http://moneycentral.msn.com/content/CNBCTV/Promos/P96607.asp?ShowResults=1

And it was taken from a 69-31 Kerry lead to where it is at now in SUPPOSEDLY 10 minutes!

In the Cheney/Edwards debate, South Texas with its 3 Navy bases (one where Poppy Bush earned his Navy pilot wings), an Army Depot, and everyone else working in the couple of dozen oil refineries there went 73.3 % for Edwards, 25.3 % for Cheney, and 1.1% tied. South Texas is over 70% Hispanic, Catholic, and Democratic.

The rightwing jerks have deliberately flooded the Ms. Magazine poll and skewered the result into a favorable percentage for their idol Bush (54% currently).

33. This new method sucks! :(
For those of us on dial-up, it's just way too hard to open a gazillion individual posts while trying to load each news page that has a poll. I guess I'll just have to soil my modem by going to the Freepers' board where I can find all the clickable links on one page, or else I'll never be able to participate in as many polls as before. This is really a disappointment for me, b/c it was great being able to have DU open in one window -- WITHOUT having to either reload or open other posts in the thread -- and web sites with polls opening in other windows.

Well, if I have to use the Freepers' site to un-Freep the polls, then so be it, because it's crucial for us not to let them make people think this poorly-trained chimp ever has or ever could outdo Kerry in a debate.

http://www.charlotte.com/mld/charlotte/

When I first opened this one there was an ad covering the poll - I shut the window and went back in and the ad was gone.

This poll is close to 50/50

Kerry won because bush lied - not to mention the Kerry just did a whole lot better.

Bush did do better than the first debate, but not well enough to win

I've gone to about a half dozen of the big polls and Kerry is blowing Bush away. Is that because DemUndergrounders are better organized than Freepers in skewing the poles are is there something real going? I hope its the later... that America isn't buying the BS any more.

Also check out the job performance grades for Bush on the Wall Street Journal web site. It's downright astounding... after more than 13,000 votes, he gets an F.

106. There are TWO polls at Indychannel.com

Kerry is landslides ahead in most of these polls.

Have just sent e-mail to all Fox links saying I have always been a Bush supporter but have changed my mind after watching the debates. Bush seems angry and confused. Can't keep control of his words or his temper....and that I'll be voting for Kerry on Nov. 2nd.

Wow. I'm starting to think like this administration. Lying and deceiving is FUN. It makes me giddy imagining those fuck nuts at Fox thinking their base is shredding.

110. THANKS FOR MAKING ACTION EASY
I also sent too many e-mails for my ISP's hourly limit, so came back to do more polls. Then in 20 minutes I can return to sending more e-mail to confirm my main impression that
KERRY WAS FORCEFUL, CLEAR AND INTELLIGENT with specific ideas. He did what he needed to do-- he showed us that he has the intelligence and strength to become Commander in Chief and clean up the major messes the Bush Administration has created both here at home and abroad. BUSH'S ARROGANT AGGRESSIVE TONE made him seem very desperate to maintain his Rosy Scenario and avoid the truth of the mess he has created. He was definitely on the defensive. His lies were quite apparent.

>>>>>>>>>
But I'm sad to see the TV chat folk-- as long as Bush didn't um and awe and fall on his face, they say he did a good job. That his desperate insistence on discredited policies seemed attractive ?!?!!!

153. What I did to make KOTV and Denver Post polls work
Both of these polls showed up already voted on even though I had no cookies from either site and had not visited the Post since the last debate.

Is it possible they can reject visitors who have linked from DU? Or they can mark you as having voted if you have the same IP address as from a vote on an earlier poll?

Here's what I did: I made sure my cookies were cleared and shut down my computer. I also shut down my broadband modem to reset my IP. When I booted up again I went into my browser's history and accessed the sites from there, not DU. The polls came up and I was able to vote.

Probably not coincidentally, these polls are among the very few I can find that skew for Bush.

189. I love this - check out their idiotic discussion:
The freepers have decided to vote for KERRY in all the online polls in hopes of tipping off the news media that something isn't right. The flaw in this logic -- as we've learned -- is that the TV news media is filled with lazy robots who will simply report the numbers without question. It will take them weeks to turn the discussion into "who is actually voting in these polls". The neocon freepers are so used to the media towing their line that they fail to realize how truly lazy the media is. Keep on DUing these polls.

"C'mon Freepers, we can get that up to 90% for sKerry and really let them know how idiotic these polls really are.

LOL! I'm gonna pump votes for Kerry into these polls! Whadda joke.

We can't beat the dems at this online poll business. They have perfected the art of voting more than once. I'm still trying to figure out how they get the dead to vote online. We need to check the cemeteries in Chicago, St. Louis and Philadelphia to see if they are Wi-Fi enabled.

!!!!!!!!
"The only thing that worries me about these silly, lop-sided polls is that the Democrats are organized to win the polls, no matter who wins the debate. I hope they aren't as organized on election day."

Hell, let's help them with these.
If the DUmbasses are jacking the polls, don't fight an uphill battle.
Help them look even more ridiculous.

Dubya didn't do nearly as well as I thought he needed to tonight, but I thought it was at worst-- and at best -- a draw.

Something is waaaaaay wrong with this poll.

Fox News online has Kerry 67%, Bush 32%. Looks like 70/30 is the DU spread. Online pols are not scientific or accurate in any way. But the idiots who watch MSNBC and the rest obviously don't know this.

think that the expression "FREEP THIS POLL" should now mean that we ignore it. We have more important things to do than play online poll tag -- such as running biased and dishonest anti-journalists and propagandists like Halperin and Rather out of their jobs!!

Voting is still open in that Tulsa poll, BUT it is being freeped big time. This has been the case after each debate.

Their site is tempramental, too. If you click on the link, you might see results instead of being able to vote. Click on "more sports" or "about us" or just about anywhere and the poll should come up.

But even if we manage to unfreep it, it'll jump several points back to Bush within a minute.

149. Kerry is actually winning this one in all of the major media outlets
By as much or more than he won the first debate by.

I think the impact is not as great in the media because Bush losing a debate to Kerry by this much is no longer big news. THe first debate had a much greater media impact, but in fact, Kerry won this by a large margin.

CNN has Kerry winning at 80 percent, MSNBC has him winning at 70 percent, CBS has Kerry at 88 percent.

ABC has an unusual result, with 44 percent saying Kerry won, and 41 oercent saying Bush, but this poll was not done by ABC, but by something called TNS.

Where I live, the local TV has Kerry winning with 76 percent. THis is significant because Republicans outnumber Democrats by 2 to 1 in this
county.

The Bush people are all talking about how wonderfully ush did, in fact, speaking as if Bush won, though the perception of the public is very clear. Bush lost as big a loss as the first debate. at least accoring to instant polls.

It will take another 48 to 72 hours before we seen if there are any efects in the polls reflecting voting preference, but if even half of the bounce occurs, this will clearly put Kerry in the lead in the presidential polls.

Zogby indicates that he believes that this debate will have a major effect on the polls. In particular,on remaining undecided voters.

The latest Zogby News before the debate states that Xogby beleives:

Election 2004 Reuters/Zogby Daily Tracking Poll: Presidential Race Narrows to Less Than One Percent – Bush 46%, Kerry 45%; Candidates Statistically Tied in Race for the White House; Debate May Cause Tie-Break, New Reuters/Zogby Poll Reveals:

Pollster John Zogby: "Yesterday a major national newspaper ran a column suggesting that the debates are not important. Just look at these numbers and it is hard to draw that conclusion. In today’s figures Kerry is reaching 80% support among democrats, though he will still need more support. The president polls 89% of republicans but independents are almost evenly split (with Kerry barely leading, 44%-41%).

http://www.zogby.com/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=878

Zogby's numbers in polls are something that I have always had some issues with, but his interpreatations have always been pretty spot on.

It was Zogby who was the only pollster to predicct that Gore would win the popular vote in 2000, but lose the electoral college.

Recently Zogby has prediected that Kerry will win the electoral college.

A number of independent pollsters have agreed with Zogby's position on this, though the media polls have not done so. ONlyt recently have media polls had Bush falling below the 270 EV needed to win the electoral college.

Hopefully. ZOgby still has his magic. He uses methodlogy that attempts to weed out voters who claim to be independent or misrepresent their party affiliation that other pollsters claim is not necessary, but which Zogby claims allows him to be more accurate.

Anyway, he has spoke his piece, and I hope it is correct. Kerry has gained another slam dunk tonight, regardless of how republican pundits are trying to call it, and putting on brave faces.

Or perhaps they are just as out of touch with reality as the leader of their party is. And that means out of touch with the American people.

188. CNN Just Broadcast Poll Results
It is working. About 30 minutes ago, CNN announced the poll results and showed a picture of the homepage (kerry 64% at the time). Of course, they made no comment to the one-sidedness and broadcast it following David Gergan calling it a 'draw'.

Point is, we are affecting media directly. Woohoo!

212. Script-stuffable polls
interesting. The polls in which Bush is winning are the polls that can be easily stuffed by a single stubborn frequent voter staying up all night, or by a simple script.

It looks like most polls allow each unique IP address to vote only once. They show Kerry ahead by a large margin.

In most of the defective stuffable polls, it is as easy as this: vote, click the "back" button, vote again.
In the AOL poll, it looks like zealous cookie-erasing freepers can stuff the poll.
I don't think they're bright enough to write scripts, otherwise the numbers would be higher.

That means there are far more motivated individual Democrats out there voting than there are Republicans, which is something the freepers are realizing.

This is good; freepers are becoming demoralized as they realize how weak they truly are. They are even giving up on internet polls and fantasizing about conspiracy theories again.

Voting at internet polls is fine, satisfying, a show of strength. But once you've spent an hour clicking buttons, consider what you earn in an hour, and what that could do in the offline world.

Rather than bothering with these broken polls, email the webmasters and tell them their polls are probably being stuffed by lone revoters or scripts, which just create useless traffic. If the polls are fixed next time, the results will be different.

I'm pretty sure the DetNews poll is stuffable by lone revoters or scripts.

But the herald-mail poll (link below) appears legit - one IP address, one vote. It's low traffic, the Freepers noticed it and are hoping for table scraps. Put three hundred votes into it and watch what's left of FreeperPride wilt!

Kerry 38.39%

Looks like the computer left, and voting's going on. This poll can be turned around!

Meantime, the Denver Post poll-- Seems Nader's votes have gotten static as the machines not driving his or Bush's up as they used to. Kerry is now at 31% (was at 22% early at Saturday morning). A bit of a climb, but doable, I think.

My second vote: Kerry is down to 38.85%
My third vote: Kerry is down to 38.85%
My forth vote: Kerry is down to 38.39% and the computer Bush votes stopped at 38.39%
And Bush's vote % is going up all the while.

226. What's the point?
These online informal polls are nothing more than "Battle of the Bots" anymore.

The morning after the second Presidential debate, CNN, poll showed Kerry leading by about 30%.

A few hours later, Bush had picked up about a half million votes, and was leading by 20%! And then Kerry started picking up votes quickly after that, but it was clear that geeks on both sides had bots doing the voting.

And based on the results, it looks like RW geeks have less of a real life than LW geeks.

Now, maybe some people think it's important as a "push-poll". Does anybody here think people look at the results of them and have their mind changed by it?
