WHY?????...Why is it that none of the campaign spokespersons seem to be able to answer the charge that "The unemployment rate is exactly where it was at this point in Bill Clinton's first term, and you referred to it then as the miracle rate"???????
Kate O'Bierne just said it again, and Begala hemmed and hawed that there is a net job loss. Why can't he go further than that and point out that 5.4% WAS a miracle since it was DOWN from 7.92% at the end of 1992. At the end of 2000 the rate Bill Clinton left was 4.02%!!! 5.4% now is a DISASTER!
Absolutely NONE of them are saying that. AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!

1. 5,4% doesn't include those who have fallen off the rolls. If we |
|
need what was it...250,000 or 350,000 new jobs a month just to keep pace with new people entering the job market, how can the unemployment rate stay basically the same when we only created 96,000 new jobs? FUZZY MATH.

3. Hasn't the DoL also changed (again) the way the numbers are counted? |
|
And, of course, they're counting them to Bushco's favor.

4. But Clinton was going in the opposite direction.... |
|
I think people believe it is going in th wrong direction even though the Bush crowd has manipulated it to appear it is at a "decent level". Kicking people off unemployment rolls and not qualifying them for benefits, and completely ignoring those that have used up all their unemployment benefits and are no longer in the numbers...

5. I'm listening to that idiot Sen from Colorado |
|
Allard and he is saying much the same with regard to the unemployment rate and Clinton's term. He is also saying that bush* inherited a bad economy from Clinton and that bush*'s tax cuts have not only turned the economy around but have created 1.3 million jobs. Now Sen. Landrieu is talking about the 137 billion tax bill before the Sen doesn't include pay increases for the Guard and Reserves who are experiencing a 41% pay gap, fighting on the front lines but yet is giving tax breaks to corporations and small business'. She is voting against this bill and urges her colleagues in the Senate to do the same.
