Bush won't bedazzle them with his brilliance but he will baffle them with
his bullshit...That is why he will do better in this debate than the last. He's a natural bullshitter. He can hold the attention of any common audience for a few minutes just with bullshit alone. Whether or not he can bullshit for 90 minutes and claim the world title is the only question remaining....

2. I don't think he has the requisite attention span, kentuck!
I t was obvious in the first "debate" that George W. was trying to figure out what he might be able to get away with instead of honestly trying to answer the questions.

5. I have to admit
every time that I hear the idiot speak I am completely baffled. Baffled as to how such a bumbling buffoon could get to be the leader of the most powerful nation in the history of the world.

6. Bush will have to face a different type of problem tonight
Though he has had experience with town hall type meetings, so has Kerry.

Bush has had about 60 such meetings, Kerry over 70.

But Bush's audiences have always been pre-screened, while Kerry's have not and Kerry has had to face a number of rather blistering questions from pro-Bush members of audiences at quite a few town hall meetings that he has held.

Bush's campaign managers have kept anyone who displayed any evidence of even having attended a Kerry event. Not only at events sponsored and paid for by Bush's campaign, but even at non campaign events paid for by tax payers. Peopl have been prevented from attending public events , unrelated to the presidential campaign. paid for by taxpayers. Bush and his campaign staff have gone so far as to throw anyone out of a pubically paid for even if they bear anything that is related to the democratic party. They have used the secret service to arrest anyone who triesto attend a nomn- campaign event that Bush is speaking at. In all cases, the Bush Administration claims that the local police are responsible, and the local police state that they have been ordered by the secret service to arrest people who insist on trying to enter a taxpayer sponsored event that Bush speaks at. In most cases, non-Bush supporters who attempt to assert their rights as citizens to attend an event they have paid for as taxpayers are arrested, held for two or three hours and then released without charge.

As a result, this forum. at which half of those in attendence will be Kerry supporters. is a format that Bush is not familiar with, as all the town hall meetings he has attended in the past have had no people in attendence who have asked any difficult questions. Cute photo-ops in which a kid asks Bush if he likes his job. But Kid one asking why his father died in Iraq while the people who were behind 9/11 are still free in Afghanistan. All of Bush's prior experience with this format have been in far more controlled environments than even the debate rules call for.

Kerry on the otherhand has been placed on the hot seat far more often than Bush, and so, is less likely to be thrown by questions from an opposition supporting candidate.

Even worse for Bush, he will not be able to repond to a citizen using the sort of attack type responses that were allowed in the first debate. And a citizen will likely be far more vocal when he feels the candidate is trying to avoid answering the question
