14. You realize that if the average donation hasn't gone up
it means MORE people are signing up for Dean! That's great! I hear Shrub is watching Dean's fundraising closely. Hope it makes it hard for him to sleep nights!

The incremental contribution.
Some have contributed more than once. It was around $77, but I suspect it's a bit higher now. Still, he leads the field in the lowest donation category probably by about a factor of two IMO.

I apologize for those who wish to be divisive. Although I am a Dean supporter, rest assured that I cheer the anti-Bush statements Gen. Clark has made. If the General gets the nomination, I will support him! We must keep our eyes on the prize and work to beat Bush.

19. thank you Rowdyboy-----the reason that we're all in a big flamefest now
is because the IA caucus is just a week away, and nerves are running high here, also with the fact that the NH primary is just one week after the IA caucus. I expect that week after the IA caucus to be the most contentious, dog-eat-dog fight ever!

In which case, if you're sick of GD:2004 already, I'd suggest you batten down the hatches in the DU Lounge ;-)

22. Rowdyboy, I think the ass hats are getting to us all.
I had tried so VERY hard to be civil for the last 6 weeks or so, but I 'lost it' (calculatedly, however) Thursday night, and posted an entirely civil but extremely 'savage' thread, simply to make the point that 'civility' didn't mean that I accept a priori that the Dean campaign have a "Kick Me!" sign affixed to its back. I rgeret that I did it, to an extent, but like Popeye, I'd "Had all I can stand, and I can't stands no more'. Seems like about 90% of the folks got the point I was making, fortunately, so I'm back to being my normal sweet, civil, logical self.

:)

29. I still believe that we are all in this together
but I find myself having to take time-outs from this place more and more frequently --- the atmosphere is just too toxic and hostile lately. I guess as it gets closer to the primaries that emotions run higher than they should.

I completely understand where you're coming from, and I hope you find it a little more pleasant around here again soon.

31. You're certainly entitled to your opinion
The only person in the current field I would have to think long and hard about is Clark. Any other candidate would end up getting my vote. Some would require a lot of nose holding, but they would still get my vote.

Kerry, in fact, is my number two.

Oh well, when John Kerry has some good news, I won't be the one trying to piss on the celebration.

:D

32. Your complaint has been noted
Dear Complainant,

We were saddened to hear about your withdrawal of support of Howard Dean for President of the United States. We respect your decision and would not dream of pressuring you to change it. Thank you for your time and attention, and we hope to be able to serve you enthusiastically in the event we win the election.

Thank you,
Dean For America

P.S. You've already been replaced.

26. More Good News
Edited on Sun Jan-11-04 06:34 PM by Lobo_13
I went door knocking today and found 11 Dean supporters. It's all coming together.

There was also a Clark supporter who would swing for Dean. So that makes 12 previously un-identified supporters.

edit: I'm in IA, by the way. Precinct captain and first time caucus goer, a true wildcard.

I was dreaming of going to Iowa until I found out how COLD it gets.

This Hawaii girl can barely get out of bed when the temperature is in the 70s.

At our latest meetup TWO, yes TWO Hawaii people said they were going to Iowa to canvass for Dean and a third said his daughter would be there. Isn't that incredible!

Whoo-hoo! We support our candidate and it shows! I bring more and more into the fold locally. A supporter of another candidate has just switched and he is pretty affluent/influenctial here.

Michigan is picking up more steam for Dean every day. By Feb 7th there will be no question.

Fabulous stuff.
