Is Bush Finished After Tonight?
From my humble blog, a shameless plug...!

According to the Canadian National Post, in a new AP poll completed yesterday, Kerry has taken a 50-46% lead among likely voters. Additionally, Bush continues to sink in all areas. Details are in the article.

If this is in fact true, it would mean a few things:
  • Pollsters said the full effect of last Thursday's presidential debates would not show up in the polls for 7 - 10 days. Kerry undoubtedly came out the "winner" in that debate so the bounce from Kerry's great performance is now showing up in the polls.
  • There will likely be even more bounce for Kerry/Edwards in the next few days as the effects of Edwards' draw/no worse than Cheney performance in the vice presidential debates is realized.
  • Kerry can put the election out of reach for Bush during tonight's presidential debate as Bush would only have one debate left to try to gain back ground. By then, few if any people could be swayed back to Bush.
So what does this mean? It means to stay out of small buildings, stay out of subways and any other place in big cities where large groups of people congregate. Stay away from locations that have poor ventilation and/or are elevated more than 10 stories. The dreaded October terrorist attack/October surprise will be imminent. These people will do anything they need to do to keep Bush in office.

1. In order for Bush to be "finished after tonight"....
Bush has to appear weak as he did last week and Kerry has to HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK!

3. Not likely
I don't think Kerry could score a knockout like the first one.
Only because bush cannot possibly do any worst....I think.

4. A Vampire always rises again after nightfall.
We have to put a stake in 'em and see 'em put in in!

It's not over till it's over - and no matter how badly bunkerboy does tonite or even in the next few weeks, they will not go away or go away easily even after Kerry wins the election - they will simply retreat into the walls and darkness like the cockroaches they are.

And, don't forget, bunkerboy will be a lame-duck after the elections, and that's when he can be the MOST dangerous - they still won't have vacated the White House, still will have their hands on the the button, and still will try to cause mischief for the new Kerry administration.

We still have a lot to be vigilant for.

6. We'll Have To Drag 'Em Out Holding Onto The Curtains...
Then it's gonna take at least 6 months to a year just to figure out how screwed up this regime has made thing.

Even if this manchild pulls things out, a second term is gonna be hell for all, including him. I'd suggest you look at the second terms of Presidents and see what's happened...Watergate, Iran/Contra, Monicagate...and these guys didn't have anywhere near the dirty laundry this regime has.

7. David Frum ( honorary CDN freeper) will be weeping tonight
... not only is bush trailing, but this rightwing rag is publishing his inevitable defeat.
David Frum (admittedly a candian by birth) an alleged former speech writer for bush, likes to credit himself with having coined the phrase "axis of evil". Goodbye evil doers, goodbye! And thank you for the fish!

8. If Bush can't "connect" with the people without his
canned audience, and if Kerry can get him a little agitated, Kerry will win this election tonight.

Keep in mind that Bush's father didn't do well at all in this debate, because Clinton got to him. Clinton won the election in '92 at this debate.

10. Not only does Bush* need to show himself to be a moron...
Kerry needs to show himself to be FAR BEYOND the haplessly intellectually challenged Chimpy McFlightsuit.

Kerry needs to score often and devastatingly as he did in the last debate, and Bush needs to continue to be the stuttering moron he showed himself to be last time.

If that happens--thinking people will realize that Bush* indeed has no clothes, and that people with a brain should vote Kerry.

If Bush* succeeds in scaring people and repeating simplistic, focus group-tested Luntz-lines, then it'll be tougher to get over the top.

Hopefully Kerry is aware of all the possible hotbuttons for mouth-breather fascists, and will have something to counter each of them. Bush* needs to be utterly obliterated tonight--in the perception of both thinking people as well as the country music/NASCAR crowd. Kerry needs to show not only the world but also joe sixpack that he is far more competent to be the leader of the free world than "the affable, moronic guy who's always ensconced at the end of the bar."

11. Not unless he moons the audience or uses a racial slur
Actually, I prefer those simultaneously. Let's see how Andrea Mitchell would spin Bush's rosy cheeks to his advantage.

Otherwise, no one is finished with three weeks remaining, no more than Kerry would have been done if Bush had won debate one.

It's semi-irrelevant if Bush rebounds bigtime, which he will, and gets the edge in some polls on who won the debate. We know Kerry is a terrific debater and has every advantage on the facts.

There is no way Kerry will falter and lose ground among his base. He needs to laser focus on issues critical to undecideds, particularly women. Edwards did precisely that, as revealed by his huge edge in the CBC poll of undecideds only. Other than Carlos Watson who picked up on that certainty immediately, the media judging the VP debate was amazingly ignorant on who each candidate had reached.
