China Invades USA - Breaking news....
Posted from another thread...newbie couldn't post, but made a very valid point to discuss:

Hello! Just found DU last week and can't get away from it! Since I'm a newbie and can't start a new thread, I'll post this here. Sorry for the thread drift but I think it's important. This was written by a coworker's husband.

It has to be asked.....

While I support our troops over in Iraq and I agree that Saddam Hussein was in need of removal, I have to also say the following. How would you feel if China decided that George Bush and the Republican Party was a threat to the world?

China and its friendly neighbors are convinced that the United States has Biological and Chemical weapons. So China goes to the UN and gets permission to inspect the United States but after a considerable amount of time can't find any Biological and Chemical weapons. So China tells the world that George Bush and the Republicans must be hiding them.

So China and its friendly neighbors (without the support of the UN) decide to help the world by militarily invading the United States and removing George Bush from power while destroying the Republican Party and everyone who supports it. Part of the reason that they justify the invasion is because the United States gives humanitarian aid to countries that contain terrorists, China starts referring to anyone in support of George Bush and the Republican Party as 'Terrorists'.

China and its allies start in Washington DC and bomb the capital to the point where anything associated to the former government is leveled. Every military installation is targeted to destroy our capability of defending ourselves. After our main resistance is destroyed China installs its own president and puppet government and starts rebuilding the country and training the police and military according to how it wants to see the United States run.

China also insists that the new government that the United States sets up, must be to its liking or it won't allow it to happen. Anyone who opposes the changes is labeled a terrorist and is dealt with in the harshest manner. Which includes being sent to a military jail, being killed, or being sent to another country where your rights to even be interviewed by the Red Cross are taken away from you.

Over the next year the United States is divided between those that want China to leave and those that support China (it no longer has anything to do with George Bush or the Republicans). Those who want China to leave start doing whatever they can to remove China from power. But because everything has either been taken from them or has been destroyed they have to use unconventional tactics.

After a year of occupation, China's own administration decides that the United States never had the Biological and Chemical weapons. And no real link was ever found between George Bush and the terrorists. But the head of China justifies the invasion by stating that even though the United States didn't possess the Biological and Chemical weapons, they obviously where looking into it.

The question I keep asking myself is, no matter how much you oppose the Republicans, no matter how liberal you are. Can you support China invading the United States to impose their philosophy and ideas on us? And if we don't want it to happen to us, how can we be justified in doing it to other countries.

1. We can't.
It ISN'T justified.

Yet this newbie justifies it by saying s/he approves of removing Saddam Husseun, even though the Iraqi people never got a say in whether they wanted him removed or not.

Can't have your cake and eat it, too.

2. This belongs in GD.
This forum is dedicated to making John Kerry the next president of the US, not over-asked and over-strained analogies.

There's no time left. We must focus.
