Earpiece, flak jacket, back brace -- another possibility? |
|
I can't believe boosh was successfully wired and fed answers in last week's debate. He's dumb, but he isn't so stupid he couldn't have done better with help. I don't think the bulge on his back was a receiver; I think our technology has reached the point where it would have been better concealed.
I don't buy the flak jacket idea either. He does events, even with his hand-picked, loyalty-oath-signing crowds, in shirtsleeves, and I don't think he could do that and not have a vest show. Surely the debate venue was at least as secure as one of his other events.
Back brace? Hmmm, maybe. Maybe it was something to keep him from draping himself over the podium and looking like a slug.
But maybe it's another device related to a health problem? We know his bradycardia (sp) is a concern, though to exactly what extent I'm not sure. I don't know how serious it is or isn't. But the facial contusions, the increasingly blurred /sic/ speech patterns, the inability to think -- and coupled with his failure to take his annual physical (which could have easily been squeezed in on one of his "vacation" days). . . . It all makes me think there's something more going on that what we're seeing.
I also think the speculation about the "wire" is a convenient diversion. He'd have done a lot better if he was wired; the fact that he did so miserably suggests he wasn't wired and something else is seriously wrong.
But I could be just talkin' out my ass, too.
I've been known to do it before.

12. At first I thought it was in-ear monitors (explanation below), but now... |
|
It used to be that singers and speakers always had monitor speakers in front of them so they could hear their own voices. Musicians know what I'm talking about. In a big and possibly noisy room you simply cannot hear your own voice. I'll spare you all the technicals. Also, you can't hear the other person's voice.
Nowadays, we're seeing a move to in-ear monitors rather than those big clunky speaker cabinets pointed at the person speaking. These in-ear monitors use a transmitter for wireless operation. At first I thought this was the case.
But now I think it was likely an additional microphone. If you've ever watched a late night talk show you will see that the host and guests wear a clip on mic and have either a desk mic or an overhead mic. This yields a better sound quality.
So, I think this is all just tinfoil. It could be what everybody's saying, but not likely. Geez, I think he would have been a little bit better if he had had help.

13. You're right, Tansy_Gold. If he does have a health condition... |
|
...that requires some sort of external paraphernalia to treat or control it, Rove & Co. would be delighted that we're all speculating about a listening device. Rove would probably even leak that rumor just to distract us from discovering the truth.
