Bush's mistakes...
One of the mistakes of his presidency was not having an answer when the press asked him if he's made any mistakes. Now he showed how well he learns from his mistakes by making the same mistake when asked about his mistakes tonight.

You were burned by a question once and looked like a fool -- how can you not be ready for it again?

1. Yup.
That's the thing that will now sink him. He had a chance tonight, but by not answering that question he blew it - big time.

I couldn't be happier.

4. Fool me once, shame on. . . uh. . . shame on you?
UH-FOOL-MUH can't get fooled again!

I know, that should have been an easy hit out of the part for Bush. He complained, and I remember it very clearly, about not having time to prepare for the question. I was a little disappointed that Kerry didn't jump all over his ass for that.

"Here's a President that talks about responsibility, and you saw it, right here in this very room, he refused to take responsibility for a SINGLE MISTAKE he's made."

Still, though, the way he floundered and fell back into his stump speech about Saddam the Bad Guy was met with a lot of blank stares. Karl's losing it, man.

7. You can run but you can't hide
Edited on Fri Oct-08-04 10:22 PM by SoCalDemocrat
Bush said "You can run but you can't hide" regarding Kerry's 20 years of service in the Senate.

He used that line alot after 9-11 to refer to Osama Bin Laden. He told Bin Laden he can run but he can't hide from the U.S.

Guess what Mr. President? He's still out there, and it's your fault.

Bush said we were in "hot pursuit" of Bin Laden.
President Bush had repeatedly assured the American people that the U.S. will capture the world's number one evildoer, Osama bin Laden. The President used just about all the rhetorical tools available to him when talking about Bin Laden; first he was "wanted dead or alive," then "he can run but he can't hide," which was followed by, "it may be tomorrow, or a month from now or a year from now." Now, Bush continues to assert, "we are a patient people."

Where is he? How are we safer now?

Bush said 75% of the terrorists are dead. What a lie! 75% of the list he made up are dead or captured, according to Bush. But what about the new terrorists since 9-11? What about the 200,000 insurgents alone that are in Sadr City, Iraq fighting the U.S. forces?

8. The idea that this man keeps saying "Look at Kerry's Record"
just infuriates me! What about his record while in office? He's gutted the enviroment and the Constitution. He's run up a record deficit and this country has had a net loss of jobs for the first time since Hoover! And then there's Iraq! On--and another thing-his little remarks about "if my opponent had shown up for the vote"--this from someone who has spent more than 40% of his time in office on friggin' vacation??????

9. I hope the media follows up on the appointees
If * believes that three of his appointees were mistakes, why haven't they been removed? Doesn't America have a right to know which appointees were mistakes?
