Bush cut off Gibson
Bush drew criticism in his first debate with Kerry last week for scowling at his opponent's criticism. The president's frustration showed again Friday night when he jumped from his seat for forceful answers. At one point, he interrupted moderator Charles Gibson after Kerry had said he was "not going to go alone like this president did" in Iraq.

"I've got to answer this," Bush said, cutting off Gibson, then indignantly responded to Kerry. "You tell Tony Blair we're going alone."

I thought Bush lost it at that point (cutting off Gibson). Most of the rest of the time, his voice had an agitated tone. It sounded like he was lecturing an unbelieving crowd. However, I thought he avoided the disaster that he got himself into in the first debate. That will count as victory for the spinners.

2. He had a little temper tantrum when he thought

he wasn't going to be able to answer one of Kerry's arguments. My wife and I both gasped at that point and knew that was the end for Bush. It turns out his performance was all down hill from there.

12. My sister had called to vent
About "that f'ing moron", and we were on the phone when that happened. Almost simultaneously we remarked..."Whoa! He is having a little hissy fit".

3. Former Governor Bush showed that he's not up for the job
Former Governor Bush has no foreign policy experience and showed an appalling lack of gravitas tonight. He's not up to the job.

4. Bush tried too hard tonight
Obviously Uncle Karl told him to be a hardass and be bold. Bad move. Dumbya looked impatient, tempermental and out of control. He was a spaz.

Kerry did what Kerry did last week. Very smart move. Didn't put on an act (like they had Gore do last time). He was polite, yet assertive. Kerry won tonight by simply being himself, sticking to the issues, and talking to the people.

5. He was shrill. And, I didn't like it when he jumped out of his seat
while Kerry was still speaking. Junior was such a brat.

Oh well, Babs never did teach her brood any manners.

7. Yes, shrill is the word
About 75% of the time. I don't think that goes over so well with a room full of voters.
