Bush's Softball Question
The last question to * was a softball ... or it could have been. The questioner asked Bush to name three mistakes. He could have been cute. He could have said that such and such policy was scaled back, and he wished that he pressed harder for his vision. He could have said lots of things.

What did he do: he turned on the questioner, read an intent that she might not have had. He accused her of trying to say that the Iraq War was wrong. How rude! How inappropriate! Why was he making war on an audience member, who gave him a question that he could have used to humanize himself. That was wrong.

1. Yup. That little tantrum cost him the election, imo.

2. And he had SIX MONTHS to prepare for that question.
It was asked of him on April 13, 2004. Actually, that reporter just asked for ONE mistake and Bush was unable to deliver. I just know the woman who asked that question saw that press conference. :P

3. I forgot about that incident!
I am amazed that * turned it back to Iraq, when he did not have to. I also think it was a tactical error, because it allowed Kerry to talk about Iraq some more.

4. I always remember that incident, because I wrote about it.
And it's one of those damning facts I use when I am debating/arguing with/attempting not to strangle someone about whether Bush is credible or honest.
