Bush's yelling at Gibson was Dean's Yeaaaaaahaaaaahhhhh!
Dudes and Ladies, the President lost his cool tonight. It won't go un-noticed. Yelling at, shouting down, and angrily cutting off a fairly civil moderator was as bad as and probably worse as Dean's scream in terms of a testament of the man's composure.

This was the defining moment when we finally saw Bush unfiltered. This was the moment of the election season. It may not seem like a big deal in the "press" now but once it gets replayed this will be Bush's undoing. It was a miserable punctuation to a miserable Presidency.

All that needs to happen is just for it to be replayed.

7. Exactly. We'll have to imagine it
Gee -- imagine if they had decided to play COndi's saying "Uh, I THINK it was entitled 'Bin Laden determined to strike inside US'" as repetitiously as they did Dr Dean.

They protect their precious little dictator.

2. I agree, but we must tell the media what we think in order for them to
notice apparently.

The Dean scream was a media creation (not reality) so the comparison is nill, but I get yer point. :hi:

4. Well, he did do that intemperate thing (Dean), whatever it was...
Dean's scream was overblown by the media about 10,000,000 times. However, both moments are the kind, if replayed, that will sink the candidate.

5. Totally uncool
I thought that sucked. Yeah, maybe he wanted to rebut the point, but there is a structure and protocol to the event -- which Gibson was supposed to moderate -- in this instance he failed, bullied by the president, who always bluffs and pushes to see what he can get away with.

Hell, even Gwen Ifall would have not let him get away with that tirade.

Is anyone else talking about this, or is it just you and me?

Bush was better coached this time, but he is still out of control, petulant, bitchy, defensive, deceptive. Many of us have been able to see this all along, but now the man seems to have very little self-control left. People who have not been paying attention are seeing it right in front of their nose. Fence-sitters I know, and even 2000 Bush voters and telling me, gaaad -- he's an idiot!

On the other hand, the effect the debates are having on me are making me feel more and more comfortable with Kerry. I could feel my blood pressure go down when I envisioned him, with his intellect, his powers of reason and persuasion, sitting down with other leaders, friend and foe alike, and how just his character will cause the prestige of the US to increase overnight. THIS is a man who can lead, who can form coalitions united for the common good against common enemies -- not a ignorant bully with a bad temper that everyone, friend and foe alike, despise.

8. I heard the first 40 minutes on the radio
And what struck me was his shrieking.

It was quite striking on radio, but once I saw the visual, it made me realize the Idiot King was not scary.

His voice is scarier than his face.
