The homer was his answer regarding the Supreme Court
Kerry's answer was the absolute right-on response to the question. The quote by the former justice, not liberal or conservative, shouldn't be able to tell who wrote it, etc, etc.
I was so moved by that. It was a unifying answer.

2. When Kerry said Bush would nominate conservative judges
Bush nodded. What Kerry said showed who was really fair.

4. Absolutely...not a clue, I'm sure.
His supreme court answer was important also because the court's decisions affect us all. I hope a lot of undecideds were moved by it as well.

I teach at a university and it reminded me of an essay exam where some student who obviously didn't study started a sentence (in ink) and then realized that he pnly vaguely remembered the vocabulary word but wasn't sure of what the meaning was and since he couldn't erase what he had already written, tried to write down any bullshit he could think of that, I can't wait to read the transcript (and I hope that it wasn't sanitized) about the Dred Scott decision. I was shaking my head - did he really say that?

11. Since you are a teacher, let me ask your opinion
about this debate. On the whole, they both answered the questions, basically. Disregarding *'s usual blunders, etc., I came away from this thinking * would probably do fairly well on a multiple-choice exam but Kerry would do extremely well with essays.
What do you think?

13. actually, I teach math
so I only give a few essay type questions. But you don't just throw vocabulary at an essay exam and hope that some of it makes sense. I actually give students partial credit (2 points for a blank, 0 for bullshit, 5 for a correct answer) for leaving a question blank rather than trying to bullshit me when they have no idea what they are doing. It is possible to train somebody to take a M/C exam by eliminating a couple of answers and reducing something that should have a 1 in 4 chance to basically a coin flip. Essay exams are harder especially if the question asks for higher order thinking skills like analysis and synthesis - bushco was having trouble with lower order skills like recalling facts.

5. The Dred Scott reference
reminded me of Barney Fife trying to explain the Emancipation Proclamation to Opie.

(If * ever wrote out the name of that decision, I'm sure he spelled it "Dread.")

9. That reference sprang to mind from some
long-ago american history class. You could just see it.

15. Didn't Bush major in history as an undergrad?
If so, his history knowledge compares favorably with his business acumen.:P

6. That being said
I hope JF Kerry nominates the most liberal judges he can find! We need them to cancel out Fat Tony and his house boy.

7. LOL!
That question and the answers really made the case. * is conservative, but Kerry is moderate. That should speak volumes to the undecideds, too!
