Anyone else see Bush winking at the audience
I saw him wink at least 4 separate times. It made me want to puke. If Bush winked at me i'd wanna slap him.

4. OH GAWD...
It was such complete smarm! I immediately thought used car salesman, or shady pawn shop guy (not to insult either profession, but there are traits, commonalities... really, I apologize, but it's late)...

So, my unanswered questions: WHAT do people SEE in the shrub? HOW in the HECK do they support him?

9. My best friend called during the debate to ask "How can ANYONE support
this fucking idiot!?!?!" We work with a shitload of shrub supporters. These people are educated. Only thing I can figure is they have never seen him speak.

5. A wink and a nod....what the hell was that all about? Too me, it was
Bush thnking to himself "damn, I just creamed Kerry with that answer."

6. Interesting move. It's the kind of move that will connect with one person
But at the same time, it alienates everyone else who isn't party to the wink. It's a powerful man telling someone, "you're in, you're one of us, and the rest of them rubes ain't."

I imagine whoever Bush winked at was either one of his handlers, or just some ordinary person in the front row who'd smiled at him. A smile to Bush means, "I support you, McBushy" rather than being just a common courtesy among neighbors.

It's a good management trick if you do most of your (hard) work behind closed doors. In a democracy it cultivates faction over community. Want proof? Look at how the Winker in Chief has "united" us these past four years.
