What should Sen. Kerry have said?
When the lady asked The Shrub to list his three mistakes and what he should have done. Sen Kerry should have said "Mr. pResident you did not answer the question use my time to do so." The shrub would have disintegrated.

2. About the deficit
"Republicans have turned their backs on fiscal discipline. I'm a Democrat and Democrats know that the best way to grow the economy and create good paying jobs is to be fiscally disciplined. It's what President Clinton did so well in the '90s and we need to get back to it."

3. Exactly right...missed opportunity...should have said
Edited on Fri Oct-08-04 11:39 PM by Protagoras
You don't seem to be able to acknowledge mistakes. I can help you with 3. WMD, The deficit, (Drug importation, Medicare bill, Osama in Afghanistan, on and on and on).

Moreover Mr. President, I'd like to ask what happened to that sign that so many Presidents have embraced which says "The Buck Stops Here". So far all we've heard from you is "The Buck Stops ANYWHERE But Here."

4. Kerry missed an opportunity
Edited on Fri Oct-08-04 11:39 PM by BeyondGeography
Not only did Bush refuse to admit a mistake, he said the only thing he would change is some of the appointments he has made. In other words, when things go wrong it's always somebody else's fault.

Kerry had a great stump speech line about President Bush's desk being where the blame starts, not where the buck stops. If ever there was an occasion to use it , it was there.

5. This was...
a golden opportunity missed by Kerry I think.

He should have said, "Since you won't answer the question then here are 3...one...etc"

6. Kerry really should have jumped on this one
Instead of just repeating what has been said earlier about the one HUGE mistake B*sh made in going to Iraq, he could have listed three mistakes IN EACH POLICY AREA...easily done....three each in environment, education, homeland security, foreign policy, economy, social programs. One after the other, finishing by saying this is just the tip of the iceberg, which it is.

7. should have said
this *hole has sent American soldiers to die to satisfy his ego and to the detriment of mankind, throwing the world into a chaotic future with the leader of the free world now distrusted and despised among nations.

8. All this could have/should have
Kerry is up there answering questions that he doesn't have any time to think about. It's easy for us to sit back and say he should have said something else when we have the benefit of being able to think about it a little. You know what they say about hindsight.
