A double standard ? What if Kerry had charged Gibson and yelled over him? |
|
what do you think the talking heads would be talking about? That would have been the end of the Kerry campaign. Do you doubt that? Why are they giving Bush a break on this?

1. Did I actually hear some talking head say |
|
that * yelling at Gibson made him appear tough and in charge? (somewhat paraphrased....I was at the computer and didn't see who it was)

6. It was Pat Buchanan... |
|
I heard him say it right before I grabbed the remote and turned the tv off. Good GOD! Tough and in charge? I've seen two year olds throwing tantrums in supermarkets more tough and in charge!!!!

8. Yelling means you aren't in charge. It's the first resort of the powerless |
|
The second (and last) resort is violence. I wonder why Pat doesn't know that?

2. Hell yes, there's a double standard! |
|
Tweety is appalled that Kerry stepped into Shrubs personal space, but said nary a word about Shrub almost clocking Charlie. It's what I've come to expect.

3. I've seen MUCH more discussion of Kerry supposedly invading |
|
Bush's space
Ln CNN: the little HO from Boston, who worked on the Kerry bio, said Bush brushed him off his shoulder like a BUG! said he didn't even pay any attention to him as he did it. she even made the motion herself, with a very diss look on her face
she really revealed herself tonight
the other three "journalists" didn't say ONE WORD about Bush's meltdown, in comparison to the perceived move by Kerry, which others have said may have just been a matter of camera angles
no DOUBTING what Bush pulled
amazing hoedom on that exchange

Bush was totally out of control. |
|
He was actually frightening when he charged Charlie Gibson. Kerry remained cool and collected while Bush became unhinged.

5. To me, that was the defining moment of the debate... |
|
Bushie lost control in a anger management moment. At that point, he went downhill and never recovered.

9. If I'm not mistaken, Buchanan was arrested for brawling when |
|
he was younger, but not a kid. I'm not proficient at googling, so I'm going on memory of something I've read.
That would explain his admiration of Shrub's bellicosity.
