1. Yet the pundits who work for those cablenews companies, will say otherwise
Most called it a "draw" and some even gave the debate to Bush.

8. It makes me crazy. The Pundits are doing everything they
can to convince the public that Bush and Kerry are in the same league. I get angry when I watch the talking heads tell us the debate was a tie because I worry that their viewers might second guess what they saw and start to believe that maybe it was "a draw".

But when the anger subsides I realize that I have faith in Americans. I have to. Kerry will win no matter what the pundits say. Americans are not as dense or blind as the GOP or the media would like to believe.

13. What concerns me is that the debate was held on a Friday night.
More people were out watching their local football teams, or whatever they do socially on a Friday night. They will rely more on the Bush stooges to get an idea of how the debate went, instead of seeing the debate themselves and forming their own opinion.

Why did they agree to a Friday night debate?

3. Those are unscientific internet polls
The scientific polling shows a tie, with a slight edge for Kerry - exactly how I saw it before I turned on the pundits or saw the polls.

4. "scientific polling?"
Edited on Sat Oct-09-04 01:29 AM by depakote_kid
Right. The methodology in almost all of those so called "scientific" polls is so shoddy that their results aren't to be trusted much more than internet polls. Several articles just came out in the last week confirming that- yet again.

10. Kerry's online polling maybe means Democrats have energized their base.
Now if we can get all of these Democrats to really vote at the polls.

Research has shown that InternetS polls are most often taken by white, conservative males in their 30's and 40's. So, if that is the case, Bush should always win. But the Democrats are fired up and they aren't going to allow Bush to steal four more years.

20. polls schmolls
polls schmolls. kerry 2 bush 0. the end. bush responses to hideous
faux pas (plural) are no more than 2 + 2 = a bag of hammers. kerry should have spoken to bush in french and simply let him know he is a sac de douche (translation: douche bag). Two questions for bush-
1. what was charley gibson's question, what is your answer?
2. how did my pet goat end?

OMG WMD WTF

love and kisses

7. Everyone is aware of the invalidity of internet polls
Edited on Sat Oct-09-04 01:42 AM by ibegurpard
However, as long as they are used by the media in shaping public perceptions, there is value in trying to make them reflect the views that we want.

On edit: by "everyone," I mean everyone here. If EVERYONE were truly aware of it then no one would report them because they WOULD be useless.

5. Im feeling pretty good about the debates.
Kerry showed me alot. He answered doubts I had at one time, no more.

He had unreal pressure on him and he came out and literally owned Boosh. He proved himself.

12. Voting more than once is too much of a bother.
Who constantly goes into their computers to wipe out cookies so they can vote twice. It took me two hours to vote in several dozen polls that way it was.

14. I look at these polls as yes, maybe unscientific, yes, maybe
Kerry's base is energized. To me this is a postive indicator that if we are energized now, we are going to be energized to vote in the election. So I will take a unscientific energized poll any day of the week over these idiots that are supposed to be experts and watch a debate or even as the harball crew call a winner before the debate even starts. Ours is more accurate as it is at least after the debate was over.

...(about their online poll, which shows Kerry besting Bush 76% to 22%) "virtually unreadable" and "clearly NOT a scientific poll..."

19. Of course he did
Edited on Sat Oct-09-04 09:14 AM by Shiru
Bush did better than last time, but he still lost it.
And dumbasses elsewhere want liberals to "admit that Bush won."
There's nothing to admit! Just because Bush did better than the first time doesn't mean he won. He lost his cool, he trounced the moderator, he danced around some of the questions without an answer, etc. That is not how you win a debate.

I'll wager some people decided to vote for Kerry for the simple fact that Bush couldn't come up with a single mistake he made in the last four years.
