MSNBC - "I don't want to be petty but...John Kerry had a really |
|
bad make-up job tonight. Bush's make-up was much better." What in the heck would he say if he wanted to be petty?
Jeez, these are supposedly national news people. Said they hated to admit it but those "thing" really count. Up next - who had the most presidential tie. They are really desperate when the only positive point is a well applied layer of pancake goop. Gotta love the airheads, they make the rest of us look like rocket scientist.

3. Not true, I taped the debate. Sitting, both Bush and Kerry looked to have |
|
bad makeup jobs (Too much light) standing away from the stools toward the crowd, (less light) Both looked better. Bush however, looked to have too much makeup and had the orange glow.

Chimp was hostile, loud, abrasive, arrogant and impersonal. His mannerisms were spastic, his body language extremely aggressive and awkward. But his makeup was nifty, though!

8. "I don't mean to be petty" = I have to be petty to find something bad |
|
to say about Kerry and good for Bush. Or it could mean "I can't really think of anything substantial to say, so let's just go with the usual superficial crap."

9. Perhaps a valid insight |
|
to some extent. If we can do a better job of making kerry look better than I welcome insight into that. He may well be wrong, but a good reviewer/commentator/critic can see beyond the things we often do because they are not overly involved as emotionally as we are in something.
If we want Kerry to look his best (and be his best) than criticizing things we see wrong to help him out is not always a bad thing.
It does seem trite - but the question remains, could he have looked better and if so, how? Because I want him to keep looking his best and win this election.
An example from my life: I am editing a document for work, about 500 pages when it is done. We are paying a large amount of money hourly for some people to write it. I found loads of errors which I reported back to the whole group. I did not care if it made some bosses look bad because this document will reflect on us all as a group. The goal is to be the best we can and put forth the best document possible. We share the same goal throughout the group but some have seen my editing as a smack down of them. I applaud them and the work they have done, but I also know we have to be our best. I put the personal aside and see this logically for what it is while some in my group have emotional attachments and are not thinking clearly.
I see Kerry in the same way. It is not a religion view or party view I hold - it is a principle one. I want our side to win and advance for the betterment of all. If kerry is looking bad let's be honest about it - if we think he is not than we can say so as well - but let's make sure we say that because we believe it to be true and not because we think that if we don't say that we feel it slights him and makes * look better.
Kerry can always do better. Let us keep him improving - which means we need to find the things wrong, analyze them, discuss them, and work on them. We need to be subjective and not like the kool-aid drinkers on the right who don't admit to anything out of fear that * may look bad - fear is what the right forces down our throats daily with terrorism and the like. We cannot let fear of what might be dictate how we see things.
Kerry was not perfect tonight. Find where things were weak and work on improving them. Why is that always seen as bad by some folks? (and I am not meaning to point this at you, it is a general question and I am not meaning to belittle or slight your views on this at all).
