Why is our country so afraid?
We were hit in '95 by someone who was an American. We were hit by Japanese air forces in 1941. We have been hit time and time again, but this administration thinks 9-11 was the first time Americans have been attacked. Bullshit.

7. Because it's boring otherwise.
We're wealthy and powerful beyond what any other country has enjoyed in history. We could literally destroy the world. The poor here live better than the average person does worldwide. But people want more out of life than dull prosperity.

Fear adds zest to life. Fear is entertaining. So we blow things out of proportion. We lost the communist boogieman, so now we have to find another, and terra is it. Those bad men are out there, threatening us. And if they weren't we'd invent them.
