How did you like JK's response to the 87 billion issue?
I'm so spin overloaded from channel surfing I can't quite remember what he said. Anyone?

1. It was OK
Since he only had 30 seconds, there wasn't a helluva lot he could say. He did repeat the line from last week when he said "I made a mistake in what I said; you made a mistake in what you did. Which is worse?" Then he went on to say he voted against giving a "slush fund" to Halliburton and also because Bush refused to pay for it by repealing the tax cut to the wealthy.

3. I agree, he hasn't really answered in a way that shows his wisdom
and Bush's stupidity. All the money was not going to buy military equipment. The bulk was going to Haliburton and the rich did not have to sacrifice anything for it!

They want war but they don't want to fight in it nor do they want to pay for it. Just like the spoiled rich coed in the crowd who supports Bush and the war but she said she would not want to fight in it.

4. I bang my head on the wall
every time Kerry, Edwards or any other Democrat lets that go by without saying something about the veto threat. Why don't they ever bring that up? And why don't they actually address the issue of some of the money being a loan, or how it wasn't ALL "for the troops"? What is up with that? It drives me nuts.

6. From the transcript
KERRY: Not necessarily be in power, but here's what I'll say about the $87 billion.

I made a mistake in the way I talk about it. He made a mistake in invading Iraq. Which is a worse decision?

Now, I voted the way I voted because I saw that he had the policy wrong and I wanted accountability. I didn't want to give a slush fund to Halliburton. I also thought the wealthiest people in America ought to pay for it, ladies and gentlemen. He wants your kids to pay for it. I wanted us to pay for it, since we're at war. I don't think that's a bad decision.
