diminishing debate
I think this debate is diminishing everyone on the podium and making Clark look better. He was smart to skip it. The moderators are doing a really poor job and it makes the candidates and the party look really disorganized and out of control.

I would advise Dean not to go to any other debates without Clark.

1. As you can see...
I'm a Dean supporter...and yet again it's an attack Dean fest...but he's doing fine in my eyes...

Sharpton lost even more respect with me tonight...

CMB defended Dean...nice...!

Lester Holt...is an ass...I can't stand him...!

She will endorse Dean next month and hope he wins the nomination, then the election and then she could be his Condi to his Dubya!!!!

I always said the woman was resourceful!!!!

4. They all look childish
CMB is sucking up. Maybe she's gunning for Dean's VP slot?

Lieberman is making no sense whatsoever.

Sharpton is preaching - he knows he's shot in Iowa, so he's gunning to knock Dean down.

Kerry - shit, is he even THERE?

Dean - still waiting for a straight answer. The audience question was a fiasco.

I don't like Clark skipping the debates either, but I sure am glad he stayed out of this hate-fest.

7. Agreed..
I'm glad Clark is out of this one.

I think that Kucinich has done well tonight. Edwards is doing pretty good except that time that CMB attacked him..were her figures even factually accurate?

6. Clark was smart to skip Iowa
He's all alone in New Hampshire getting attention. Even the national news reports on Iowa and then gives a short snip about Clark in Iowa. Clark stays out of the nasiness of debates like this.

8. I agree.
One minute answers with mud thrown inbetween, is really useless. Nothing gets accomplished. I can't say I'm too upset about Dean's performance tonight. He's off his mark. Looks bad.

I'm GLAD Clark is in NH all by hinself!

10. Dean looks awful.
He just isn't a good debator.

Some people are, some aren't. Sharpton isn't helping anything.

13. What kind of "debate" is this?
Edited on Sun Jan-11-04 09:50 PM by hey2370
It's one on 10, with the real opposition not sharing the stage (and no, it's not Clark). How do you respond to a bunch of lesser lights questioning your integrity and insinuating that you are something that you are not? My theory is that there is no way to look good in this kind of format if you are a serious candidate, which only three of those on the stage are.

Does Clark have serious health problems?

What the hell is up with Clark missing this and Lieberman showing up?

Smart thing to do. Let's wait to see the NH polls this week. Should be interesting. Lieberman is there to attack Dean. Couldn't you tell?

Clark is healthy as a horse! Thanks for asking. :)
