Wow, nice call. This debate was so horribly one-sided and that moderator who picked the questions was awful, although I knew he was going to be.

How did you all like that one question from the audience for Bush that went something like: "Mr. President, please name 3 instances where you made mistakes during your Presidency." WHAT?! Who allowed that one?? Then Kerry gets a minute to comment on what he thinks Bush's mistakes were. Sheesh.

(Subject: talking about a group of freepers who went to a democrat event to 'freep' a quest that was a kerry crewmate) Chieftain and Recovering Ex-Hippie were on the way to the FReep when Chieftain realized that his SUV was slowing from desired 70 MPH Interstae speed due to a lack of fuel! (Subject: first debate) The worst part of Bush's performance last night was how he responded to Kerry's points. For example, Kerry would say things like: "There was no connection between 9/11 and Iraq", "Saddam had no connection to terrorism", "Iraq never had weapons of mass destruction", etc. etc. And I expected Bush to respond by saying something like: "Yes there was a connection and here's why I believe that", "Saddam was involved with terrorism and here's the evidence", "There were WMD in Iraq and here's the proof", etc. But instead Bush responded with statements like "Well, you voted for it also..." or "You...

(Subject: from first debate) Bush let us down tonight. He seemed confused, unfocused, on the defensive, and unconvincing. Kerry, on the other hand seemed strong, focused, and clear. Since coming to office Bush has done nothing but let us down. From expanding entitlement programs, to growing the deficit, to endorsing and expanding affirmative action, to failing to get conservative judges on the bench. Bush has done nothing but let us down in his four years. Losing the election will be his final "gift" to the Republican party.

I look at their threads and feel a time warp every time. They imagine they live in the United States of about 1975 or 1980, or (at best) they do live in the backwards parts of the South and Midwest where it still is 1975 or 1980... (Cue 'Twilight Zone' theme....)

Oh well, they're dinosaurs now so we'd better enjoy them and save one or two mating pairs before they die out. (Stuff the rest and use them to scare little kids!) The relevant philosophical question is: should we keep the last few in kennels, stys, or polar bear pits? And what do we do with their accumulated set of Darwin Awards?
