Take the keys to the family car out of George W. Bush's hands
I'd like John Kerry to wrap up the third debate by saying something like this. I'm sure he and his people would be much more eloquent but here's a rough outline:

President Bush has demonstrated throughout these debates, throughout his campaign and over the course of his Presidency that he doesn't have what it takes to be a leader in today's world. He has the kind of mind that works best when playing a game like tick tack toe, the kind of game where there are only two options. But, ladies and gentlemen, the rest of the world is playing chess.

He displays the kind of simpleminded thinking that, if presented with a situation similar to the Cuban missile crises that President Kennedy was confronted with, rather than use skilled diplomacy backed with force, he would rush headlong into a nuclear war. A situation that is not unlikely in these complex times. Indeed this President has among his most devoted followers a group of religious fundamentalists who support him precisely because they believe that his policies are likely to bring about the end of the world.

As we move forward over the next several years our country will be faced with a number of complex choices. This President has demonstrated that he does not have the judgment or temperament to make the right decisions.

He asked us to trust him to make the right decisions on Iraq. We told him what his responsibilities would be and he accepted them. But like a reckless teenager who's been handed the keys to the family car, he pulled out of the driveway and just as he was out of eyesight, he stepped on the gas, burned rubber around the corner and wrapped the family car around a tree.

And now he screams that we don't have a right to complain because we're the ones who gave him the keys!

Well ladies and gentlemen - President Bush may not be able to articulate what mistakes he's made during his term of office but I can tell you one that I made. I made the mistake of trusting George Bush to make a responsible decision. As a result, thousands of our young people aren't with us this evening, tens of thousands are now without arms or legs or eyes and thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians are being mourned by their families.

We gave this president our trust and he wrapped the car around a tree. We trusted him with our economy and he wrapped that car around a tree as well. And with the other things like health-care and the re-importation of American drugs, things that he promised to take care of, like an irresponsible teenager he simply ignored them.

And he doesn't even admit to making any mistakes.

If a person has a drinking problem, the only way to fix it is to admit that you have a problem and then get to the hard work that it takes to deal with it. You can't fix a problem if you won't admit that you have one.

Ladies and Gentleman, on November 2nd lets take the car keys out of George Bush's hands and put a responsible driver behind the wheel.

1. Yes - If this country is like a car run off into a ditch
then Boosh is like the intoxicated driver still sitting at the wheel with his foot on the gas, saying "stay the course, stay the course..."

The electorate was smart enough in 2000 not to want him to have the keys in the first place.

2. OOooo, that was good. You shouldn't have posted it, you should have
sent it to the Kerry campaign. There are some real choice points made there, very eloquently.
