Shrub goes (postal?) OTAY?
Edited on Sat Oct-09-04 09:19 AM by Hubert Flottz
How many "News Networks" are replaying over and over again this morning, footage of Bush's zany outburst during last night's debate? The answer my friend, is nada! While the moderator tried to 'Calm Bush Down' last night, Kerry looked on in amusement, shock and disbelief, as did the rest of America! Clearly Shrub's self restraint and good judgment, both went AWOL for a few seconds last evening, but the Fox Snooze Channels of the "Free" world will never mention that today! Not like when they rattled on and on for days and weeks on end, about the "Dean Scream" of old!

What Kerry needs to do is run the footage of Shrub's mad rush at the crowd and that very defensive moderator, over and over, in his next campaign ad! Kerry could ask questions as the footage runs like, "Do we really want this out of control, freaked out, goofy and probably by now, drunken madman running the 'Free' world?"

The best the "News Channels" can do this morning, is talk about Kobe Bryant's love life and political prisoner Martha's first night in a West "By Gawd" Virginia jail house! Every now and then the TV snooze "reporter" will mention how "well" Prince Shrub debated last night! Speaking of "well", they missed the part about Shrub not acting at all like a mentally "well" man, for a few seconds on Prime Time TV! They also miss the part about, how a few seconds, is all it takes to push the Doom's Day buttons, that Shrub has total control over 24/7! Be very afraid, Bonzo has the little red buttons and he may be going rabid,(postal?) any second now!

I "red" what you wrote and then read it again, and it got even worse the second time.

25. You have the right to say what you want, and I have the right to object.
The whole idea of Bush "metamorphizing" into Howard Dean (like that was a bad thing) is offensive to one of the finest Democrats and the hardest working representative for progressive ideas that we've seen in a long time. The idea of Bush "going postal" like Dean, as you had originally implied, is offensive to a lot of us on DU. You implicitly mischaracterized the "Dean Scream".

Thank you for toning down the rhetoric, and BTW, were Bush to actually "metamorph" into Dean, the world would be much better off for it. Unfortunately, Bush stubbornly and stupidly stays Bush.

3. He didn't metamorphise into Howard Dean
He let the world see the real George W. Bush in two debates. Dean's Scream some of you want to allude to was a media example of overkill which later had to be repudiated by the networks. Dean is a much more focused and intelligent man who opposed Bush's war from the start. He also is working hard for Kerry and electing Dems. Enough of the comparisons of Bush to Dean.

13. Junior does not have a sharp mind like Howard Dean!
I'm a Dean fan and was sickened by what the media did to him! What I was trying to get across, is the difference in how the media over-killed the Dean Scream story but never noticed Bush's public outburst! I think everyone in America should be screaming like Howard Dean, about Shrub's 3 1/2 year reign of terror on the middle class! I would have been GLAD to have voted for Dean if he had won the nomination! I think Howard Dean has done more for our party than most!

27. Man oh man Brokaw, Jennings and Rather
had a roundtable discussion at the New Yorker shindig a week or so ago. I believe it was Brokaw who referenced the Dean debacle as clear evidence that the media diverted attention from the significant to the merely pandering. When you contrast the President's* performance last night and the media's nauseating denial of it, anyone with any sense at all can see that modern "journalists" ( I shudder to use the word) strain at gnats and swallow camels.

Dean's issue was a funky microphone. As a singer, I've dealt with a few of those. Vocalists get really ticky about sound quality; it only takes one bad piece of equipment to make a decent singer sound like a Karaoke reject. But the media unscientifically, and more as rats than
reasoned human beings, launched a blitz against Dean that was base and very 'Lord Of the Flies' to me.

Contrast this with *'s temperamental siezure last evening. I was reminded of some of the Banty Rooster men I met in Georgia, who strut around all puffed up, signifying their pathological lack of impulse control.

It is not in this country's best interest to have a man in the White House who behaves in this disrespectful barnyard manner. His head bobbed just like a cock trying to stare down the dog. I've seen how that fight ends. The dog eats the chicken.

In my mind, Gibson and * arranged this ahead of time. "Listen, Charlie, I don't follow rules, see? Becuz....uh....I'm th'Prezdent, see, and I goota show the 'murcan people that I don't HAVE ta fallah rules. So...uh....I'm gonna act like an ignorant asswipe and walk all over you and you let me, 'kay? And KKKarl Rove won't call and threaten your firstborn, so we both win!"

Americans in the Undecided category will be repulsed. Only his base will claim it shows "command" rather than just immature, classic* conduct. And they will score this against the media as well, finally realizing the "librul media" are in fact * bootlickers.....Sig heil and all that......

LMAO! It might have been a set up thing! I put nothing past the Rovebotic Right! Look at how the media treated Al Gore after his great speech in New Your, at the 'Move On' thing! Bush was the "WILD EYED" one last night, but he gets off Scott free, go figure!

Edited on Sat Oct-09-04 11:08 AM by buddyhollysghost
before the intelligent American totally rejects them as a source of news. I believe very soon that the Big Three will cease to have news budgets.

Americans want some substance. We want to know how to get things accomplished. Most of us, that is. We are effectively shut out of the process by "entertain-O-journalists" who are no more than salesmen for the parent company's products.

And * is apparently one of those products. What a waste of resources....

Edited becuzz we are due at the Co-op for grain and the music store for drum clickers ( whatever those are) and everyone is glaring at me to get off the computer so I am spelling poorly)

8. WOULD YOU PEOPLE STOP COMPARING BUSH TO DEAN!
Dean's moment was a DISTORTED media creation NOT REALITY. Bush's moment spoke for itself.

#!@ Nothing against YOU Herbert, but I'm getting sick as hell of the comparisons!

I can tolerate a "will this be a Dean like media takedown" thread, but not a direct comparison.

Well said.

The title of this thread is completely insulting. Dean changed my life and re-energized this party.

Bush is an unstable idiot.

As someone who was in Iowa and saw "The Scream" in person, it makes me even angrier.

19. It made me angry too, what they did to Howard Dean!
It proved to me the power Karl Rove has over the media! The fact that the media fails to mention Shrub's loss of control and what looked almost like rage, confirms my belief that the right wing almost totally controls the flow of information through the corporate media! I like and admire Howard Dean, for standing up to the GOP!

9. Shrub/Dean?
For Chimpy to metamorphose into Howard Dean would require first that he have a brain transplant, then a heart transplant, and then perhaps get a blowjob or 2, just so he can loosen up a bit.

Seriously You just can't compare the 2. Dean's so-called 'scream' was an expression of unrestrained enthusiasm. Shrub's little meltdown last night was him throwing a tantrum when things don't go his way. There's no comparison.

The comparison I was trying to make was, the media coverage of both events!

They made a mountain out of Howard's show of emotion, but never mentioned Bush's loss of composure, at all!

10. Hey now people, think about this. (I was a Dean supporter.)
Edited on Sat Oct-09-04 09:11 AM by LoZoccolo
I was a Dean supporter, and if you look at my posts the night of the scream and right after, you can see I was really upset about people perpetuating the right-wing Drudge line on it. I even started a thread to the effect of "people who don't care about the scream check in". That having been said, in the mind of the many in the middle, the Dean scream was embarassing or wild or whatever, and if people haven't gotten out of that mindset, they're unlikely to. So why not use it to our advantage? You could even draw a huge contrast that does good to Dean - "Dean yelled at a pep rally, Bush* did this at a debate and broke the rules!" Dean ends up looking a little bit better that way!

14. The point is that if they're going to take Howard Dean's words
out of context, to make Dean seem angry when he wasn't, then the least they could do is play a clip of Bush REALLY getting angry in front of millions of viewers.

And being rude to the moderator.

Edited on Sat Oct-09-04 09:48 AM by Hubert Flottz
I never meant to slight him in any way! I was saddened by what the media did to him! I was sickened by the power over the press the GOPers had that allowed them to railroad Howard Dean out of the nomination! The Bush Team feared Dean the most I believe!

Look at the way the press went after Bill Clinton! Mrs. Clinton was 100% dead on about the VRWC!
