Amateurism in our Society keeps us from the Good Life. Bush is an |
|
amatuer of the worst degree... a selfish, myopic one. Fakes his way thru, acts talks like he knows ehat he talking about then we learn its mostly canned phrases in front of canned crowds.
But that is HIM... What of the larger picture??
We got amatuer politicians(no testing required, no schooling)
same for jurors
and the big one, voters... We let anyone be a voter, a juror, or a politician. No schooling, no testing.... just some small items like citizenship and no felonies...
We pay a very stiff price for this, very stiff. Look at Bush, his amatuerism got us no protection upgrade despite many warnings. He went with his gut feelings(which turned out tragically wrong) that America did not need sevurity upgrading.... this one act coulda stop 9/11...its amazing that our amatuer voters do not see this in great numbers.
Come, we go voters school, its free and it pays.

I have a feeling that some "Home Schooling" has been going on since the voters got cheated in 2000! I think this year is going to be a little different! I think a lot of voters are more aware of the issues and more aware of the cause of our troubles, than ever before! I think the "Innernets" will make some "small" difference, but regardless of the "Innernets", the current bad condition of the country will be the most telling factor! "Are you better off now than you were four years ago," will be a valid question in people's minds when they cast their votes in 04!
Bush can run and dance around the issues but he can't hide from the loss of jobs, the increasing and massive dept, and the mess he's made abroad! Bush can't really protect America from terrorist attacks! He admits that he can't and even warns us, that we "WILL BE HIT BY MORE TERRORIST ATTACKS!"
The people can see by the condition of their immediate environments that Shrub is a "Fake"! (Compassionate?)NO(Diplomatic?)NO(Conservative?)NO(Uniter?)NO(Environmentalist?)NO(Honest and Truthful?)NO(Reckless?)YES(Dishonest)YES(Anger Management Issues?)YES(Intolerant?)YES(Dangerous?)YES(Inflexible?)YES(Greedy)YES! George has a record too and he might run and lie, but he can't hide from it!
The massive "New Voter Registrations" here and all across America, make me want to believe, that the voters will be a little better schooled and more aware of their total environment, come election day!
To see one must look! I'm hoping that this year more people are in fact looking and seeking real answers! America needs only to look at the hits we have taken under Bush's watch, to see that Bush Is Just Plain Bad For America's Future!

All the voters have to do is open their eyes and LOOK.

2. True. But there really isn't another way to do it. You can't test folks |
|
Edited on Sun Oct-10-04 10:04 AM by w4rma
because tests are easy to manipulate. You can't have a voter school where at the end you are declared an expert voter/jurist/politician because then the folks who gain control of the school can manipulate it to prevent the folks they don't like from helping to govern in the system.
The only thing you can do is give folks as much information as possible, get folks as educated as possible and hope that with their understanding of all sides of the issues they can determine which side is trying to con them and make them weaker and which side is trying to get the truth to them and make them stronger.

4. Voting is very important and perhaps we take it too cheap... |
|
We test 747 jet pilots, ocean liner captains, etc. Somehow, we should have some kind of school and generic/non partisan test for us voters to insure quality Leaders. Until this is introduced refined honed.... we will continue to suffer from amatuer leaders.

6. America has taken the cheap way out too many times and it's... |
|
caught up with us in SO many ways! Bush can blame Clinton, 9/11, Kerry and even the "Uneducated American Worker", but it's REALLY his baby! The GOPers control the White House, the Congress and the Federal Courts, but they still blame the "Liberals" for the SORRY state of the union today? I don't think that old worn out dog will hunt this time round!
Nobody trusts Bush, but the totally foolish this time round!

7. The cheap way is to let others think for you...the lazy way if I may, |
|
the price comes back to haunt us with poor results, often times with disastrous consequences....
Any given society lives and dies by its leaders... our America is no different. Thus it is vital our Leaders are chosen in such a way,,,we get the BEST.....
Its Obvious, in Bush, we have not done this....Far from it ... it appears we went all out to get the WORST....

The repugs don't want informed voters, the AH-nold debacle proved that. They want people that are just smart enough to run the machinery and do the paperwork, and stupid enough to overlook how they are getting screwed by the corporations that fill their special interest coffers.
