John Kerry is a "used car salesman"
Heard it from a number of C-Span call-ins this morning. "Kerry looks like a used car salesman, he's just trying to sell me something." Must be the new right-wing slur making the rounds...might even replace flip-flopper.

So I ask you. Which of these guys looks like a used car salesman to you?

1. Bush doesn't even look like...
...a used car salesman. More like a down and out janitor trying to peddle illegal expired prescription drugs to middle school kids.

when he siad he doubled some spending then in mid though he said, no he tripled. The he went into the "unsafe" Canadian drug meme.

3. bush* supporters never offer constructive criticism, never. The only
thing that they have to offer are insults. Their boy has been a total failure, not to mention dangerous. What insult can be made out of that truth?

4. He looks like a wino
who's just been given his first new suit. Now the necktie is starting to feel a little tight, but really it's just the stirrings of the great thirst.

5. Bush is like a used car salesman trying to convince you
...that the car you bought from him is NOT a lemon. "That smoke coming out from under the hood? That's "performance vapor" -- what we call it in Texas. The grinding is a security feature, and no, it's NOT supposed to be able to turn left. How's that undercoating workin' out for you?"

8. I noticed they've dropped their other standard line
"He'll say anything to get elected." Edwards seems to have pulled that one right out of their playbook, and it has the added advantage of being true.

Three reports, including two from your own guys that prove that Saddam wasn't a threat? The Bush administration fiercely contends that it proves that Saddam WAS a threat. These guys will say anything. And they'll say it over and over, as if that somehow will turn falsehood into truth.

13. C-SPAN: Spin City On Crack
I knew things were gonna be interesting when Mr. C-SPAN, Brian Lamb appeared on my tube this morning. It must have been real, real important for Mr. Fascist Friday to man the roundhouse himself and steer the spin this morning.

Someone noted the large number of black-sounding callers chirping in for Bunnypants (is that Dred Scott's family???) and Brian kept the pro Kerry calls short and let the Pro Bunnypants ones ramble.

One note to the the RNC: (we know you can't stay away from us here)...if you're gonna hammer the same old, lame old blast fax points, at least have semi-credible people calling in. The image of one college repugnican goon handing the cellphone to the next to call in is starting to burn in...

15. As opposed to "Boiler Room Bush"?
Edited on Sat Oct-09-04 05:41 PM by secondtermdenier
"I'm calling you about a once in a lifetime financial opportunity which is something that does not happen very often. Be excited to know that we've been following a fascinating emerging wood concern, and are pleased to allow a select few to get in on the ground floor. You want to discuss it with your wife? There ain't no time! Take off your skirt, get the courage to be rich, send the check pronto, and we'll talk 'bout the fundamentals and the technicalities while you're deciding which color your new sports car should be!"

If Jerry runs for office Bush could take over the Springer show: "You slept with and killed all the immediate members of your family. You are one sick sad sorry individual, your story fascinates me, and we'll be discussing it every day this week."

Game show hosting also comes to mind as a possible "future career path". Televangelism might be too obvious.

He really reminds me of the kind of "sales guy' I've met in real life who will try to demonstrate their expertise by picking up anything, a blank piece of paper say, and "selling" it. "This isn't any old paper: the pulp is hand-logged in the ancient hidden rainforests of Peru by skilled craftsmen who pass their trade down from father to son. Every sheet must pass the 1863 Geneva paper law which most companies now ignore. See, you haven't even heard of it. Of course, this paper is an acquired taste. I find once you've been exposed to the finer things, it is impossible to go back."

As opposed to that inarticulate, bumbling, chuckling, winking salesman he was debating.
