Why did some of the questioners from last night's debate read like they
had never seen the question before? My girlfriend brought this up, otherwise I wouldn't have noticed it. Perhaps it was nerves, but some of those people sounded like 5th graders reading out of their Social Studies text.

1. They were scared Bush would leap off his stool and charge at them
like he charged at Charlie Gibson.

(Nerves, I think)

3. I wondered that too.
One thing is for sure. The gal that asked the abortion question IS NOT AN UNDECIDED VOTER! She is a one issue voter and her mind was made up ages ago.

8. Gibson should not had called on her
It should had been obvious that she was not undecided.

9. That and the woman with the American flag....er red, white and blue shirt..
Sigh...at least we had Mrs "OhMYGodICan'tBelieveWhatanAssourPresidentis" directly behind Bush for most of the debate. She was cracking me up.

11. I loved her!!
Her body language was amazing to watch.

I have to say that I agree with others on this forum though. Anyone who is undecided at this point has a loose screw.

17. you could see it in her eyes
When Bush got near her to speak, she had that devoted follower glassy-eyed look. A regular Bushbot.

6. You could see the seething righteousness behind her eyes, couldn't
you? And the adoring gaze at Bush. :puke:

12. Somebody needs to tell her that abortion isn't mandatory.
No one is requiring her to have an abortion. . .

I thought Kerry did a good job w her, but she is so not a "soft supporter" or "undecided."

4. My guess would be
stage fright. If I remember correctly, the moderator stated that he had chosen the questions and the people who were to ask them did not know they were going to be called upon. If I had been in their shoes, I would probably have reacted the same way because I am a microphone-o-phobe. Being on national TV can make some people quite nervous.

10. When I imagine myself in their position
I think I'd be pretty nervous.

It's worth noting, though.

13. Two reasons, really.
1) The questions were probably reworded for clarity between when they were submitted and when they were read.

2) We need to do something about the public education system in this country, because that is what most people actually sound like when they read aloud.
