2. Tie between Kucinich and Edwards
Edited on Sun Jan-11-04 09:55 PM by Tinoire
Edwards handles debates extremely well. A+ all the way.

On edit: And damn! Edwards had the best closing statement!

What do you think of Edwards?
:hi: We've never discussed him. Personaly I like the guy, and I agree he is a good debater, plus hes also a friend of DK, I still like Kerry for my second choice yes I decided, but Edwards is a close third. I didnt see the debate.

28. You missed
Dennis and Edwards outshining the pack. By a long way.

Lieberman digging a grave for himself. Dean, Sharpton, and CMB sniping. Kerry decent, but not on fire, and shooting himself in the foot during his closing remarks with "Bring it on." Gep...came across as good, caring, and ineffectual. Referred to the Clinton years too many times.

If Cspan or MSNBC replays it, it's worth a watch.

6. Yeah sure, how did you come to that realization...
would it have anything to do with the fact that he didn't even bother to show up?

It was a wash. Everyone had valid points, although Sharpton was a bit shallow and rabid this evening..

7. Gephardt
He avoided the condescending MLK quoting that he usually does. He established himself as the worker's candidate.

Dean was flat, but the attacks by Sharpton made me like him better.

Here's a better question: Who was the loser of the debate?

I say sharpton./

12. Come off of it already.
It wasn't a disaster. It wasn't enthralling. It was so-so. Each candidate had their own moments.

14. Edwards, as usual. He's a pro.
It always kills me to see the Dean votes. He has been as consistantly bland as it is possible to be.

25. If you voted Dean
you are definitely drinking too much kool-aid. Dean got stung by Sharpton, and the ask the audience question. He definitely did not win over any new voter with this debate.

Gephardt has done well speaking about jobs and health care, but hasn't been too memorable.

Edwards has done a great job getting into the big debates and making good points. He has put an emphasis on his working for the little guy and fighting against corporate America.

Kerry has looked a little beaten and is still trying to dig up dirt on Dean that isn't there. He's made a few good points and is attacking Dean less than usual, but it's still there.

Dean has looked wounded. He's had a bad couple exchanges. He hasn't looked good by any stretch. He looked silly when he tried to subvert the rules of the debate by asking an audience member a question, and not having a backup question. He took some hits tonight.

Lieberman has looked like a fool with his speech (that was supposed to be a question). He hasn't made any real contribution to this debate that I can remember.

Kucinich has been on fire giving the crowd pleasing, and funny answers. He has focused on the Iraq war again. He is a crowd pleaser.

CMB - I'm not sure if she's had any impact, although she has tried to stir up trouble. She seems to be pandering to Dean more than anything. She tried to attack Edwards and Sharpton, but not very well.

Sharpton - He's made it his focus to attack Dean, and has done some damage. He has no shot in Iowa, and he knows it, so he isn't trying to progress his campaign. He has made some good barbs though.

26. I didn't watch so I voted
just because everyone else seems to do the same thing. These polls are ludicrous. "How Do Clark Supporters View Reagan?" and anonymous responses allow my candidate to be smeared? Fuck that!

27. Dean hands down.....
Dennis and Carol come in a close second. Kerry and Lieberman should pack it in. The clear front runner emerged tonight and it is Howard Dean. GO HOWARD!!!

Not to be difficult, but didn't Dean emerge as the front runner some time ago? Not sure that tonight was such an emergence.
