Don't get SPUN! Sinclair vs. Debate spin
Edited on Sat Oct-09-04 01:12 PM by George_S
They are trying to distract us. It is no coincidence they announced this now. They want to divert us from the after debate spin, and it's working.

We are losing in too many of the online polls. There will be plenty of time to fight Sinclair Broadcasting after the 48 hour spin time is done.

2. A double-edged sword I think...
Distract us, and if not distract, fly under the radar without protest. I think both need focus. I believe you're right on some level, but since they are both out there, they both need to be dealt with.

3. Yes, they do

But the first 48 hours after a debate is what matters. There will be plenty of time after that to get Sinclair.

For example, check this poll:

We are getting beat bad.

7. That's ONE poll, the majority of the polls show Kerry FAR ahead
And with only a few weeks until the election, we DON'T have 48 hours to sit on our asses and ignore the Sherwood film. Are you saying it's more valuable to click ourselves to death in online polls which are all discounted anyway? I think we have enough of the polls showing Kerry ahead that we don't need to worry about a few that don't.

4. Losing online polls?
Who cares? Unlike those polls, this issue is something that could swing the election for Bush.

5. That's exactly why they announced this now
They want to divert you. They lost the after debate spin big time after the first debate. This is about all they could do to sway it to their side.

I'm as pissed as anyone, but Sinclair Broadcasting is a blessing in disguise.

It's exactly what we needed to show the world how corrupt the right wing spin machine is, and it will ensure the Fairness Doctrine is restored.

In the meantime, we may lose the after debate spin.

6. All I'm saying is...
... we can fight Sinclair but there is no need to ignore the online polls and the after debate word of mouth. That matters, and that is why the DNC asked for our help.

The Kerry campaign will come up with a plan for this too. No worries.

8. Online polls mean jack shit.
25% of the TV sets in the country--now that means something.

9. I agree, few people believe online polls are acurate. People listen to
profesional polls and they all claim Kerry won.
