It's too late to trot out Osama, George W.!
Dear George W.

If you think a Hail Mary "Lookie What We Smoked Out!" Osama capture is going to swing the election your way, think again!

Americans are not nearly as stupid as you think they are.

Capturing Osama won't end your bloody Iraq adventure, put Americans back to work, provide health care, or bring down skyrocketing gasoline and heating oil prices.

Capturing Osama won't make your Puritan-based initiatives any more palatable to Americans capable of reasoning.

Capturing Osama, as you have pointed out on numerous occasions, is not a priority in your war of on terror.

Finally, capturing Osama will not make us any safer.

When and if someone drops a dime on Osama, just like someone dropped a dime on Saddam, don't start prancing around like Mick Jagger and slapping Rumsfeld's palm like a sports ball player.

That would signal the ultimate Flip Flop: first you want to bring him in dead or alive; then he's irrelevant; and now we're supposed to believe that you were just kidding about the irrelevance part?

Next time around (if the is such a thing as reincarnation), I hope you get that baseball commissioner gig instead of ruining the country.
