Interesting question on today's Zogby poll |
|
Would you rather vote for a tin man who was all brains and no heart, or a scarecrow who is all heart and no brains?
Is it just me, or is that a very strange question?

2. Not a strange question at all |
|
IMO, the question seeks to separate liberals and conservatives. I remember seeing this question a month or so ago. I didn't like it only because I didn't like the choices. The two answers are polar extremes. I forget what I answered. If there was an "Don't Know", that's probably what I chose.

3. The implied analogy, by the current conventional media "wisdom", |
|
Edited on Sat Oct-09-04 03:03 PM by Mayberry Machiavelli
I think, is that Tin Man (all brains no heart) = Kerry, and that Scarecrow (all heart no brains) = Bush. But neither is accurate. Kerry's got plenty of heart and courage, and while it is true that Bush has no brains, he is also heartless.

4. I would actually switch the two... |
|
I think liberals are viewed as all heart while conservatives are more apt to rationalize everything. I think Kerry has both.

5. I didn't like the choice either |
|
It was more of the one-dimensional thinking that seems to be so prevalent in the media today. I agree with the others about division and putting K or * into categories. Except... I don't think * has either a brain or a heart. We know he can't think and he damn sure isn't "compassionate".

8. analogy don't work for Buch because he has neither. |
|
And Kerry has both.
But in the spirit of rolling with it. I want my president to be SMART. Not some dumbass who is pushing buttons to see the pretty lights.
