Will Saturday Night Live do a skit of Bush beating up Charlie Gibson? |
|
Edited on Sat Oct-09-04 03:23 PM by Quixote1818
I have a feeling we might see that tonight as well as a number of skits on Letterman and Leno making fun of Bush being a pushy nut case. How about a skit that shows Bush getting into it with Gibson and saying "Want some Wood Gibson?" then taking out a two by four and wacking Gibson over the head before he takes out Kerry and the audience. If Saturday Night Live starts the ball rolling then watch out! Any predictions?

they will do it in the most unfunny way possible.
Just my opinion of SNL.
Still, I hope they do it because you are right, it will become part of the conventional wisdom.

5. I think they were good on Bush |
|
But they were unfair to Kerry. Kerry did not say anything about his medals for instance... And he was not moving his arms that much (even so, moving your arms while you speak is an aid to conveying the message).

6. i agree, with Kerry they used right wing stereotypes |
|
of how he always talks about vietnam and other shit which is first of all not true, but especially not true in that debate.

9. Yeah, but the main things that sunk Bush were his facial expressions |
|
and I think Will Forte generally failed to capitalize on those. I thought the Kerry impression was pretty weak as well.

7. The debate skit last week wasn't that bad. |
|
The people I know, who don't normally watch SNL, thought it was hilarious. Even though the skit made fun of Kerry, it wasn't as bad as with Bush.
I usually watch MAD TV because it's funnier than SNL. But, MAD TV makes fun of Kerry far worse than SNL.

Do we not remember how they burned the shit out of "it's hard" so that on Monday it was all over the cable channels and then onto TDS, Letterman, Leno and into the our collective pysches. It went so smoothly I guess.
I predict we'll see an open with another debate...and I expect whomever plays Bunnypants goes WILL go balistic, does something with wood (too good to pass up) and somehow work the "it's hard word" stuff back in just for refreshers.
Lorne Michaels is still a very loyal Democrat and is still THE MAN on this show. I also expect Tina Fay is loaded with all sorts of stuff.
Unlike the first debates where Jon Stewart, Letterman, Leno, Conan and others had a shot first, tonight it's SNL's turn. Might be one of Rove's worst moves...to demand that debate was on Friday night.
Cheers!
