Bush's "I Had A Scream" moment: new nickname "Furious George"
I always felt that Howard Dean got SCREWED OVER with the whole "I Have A Scream" thing. Would he have made a great President? I don't know, and that's not the purpose of this thread.

I don't know how WIDESPREAD this has become, but on Daily Kos, there is a reference to the Charlie Gibson incident and "Furious George"...now, we've cherished the "Chimp" stuff here, and have often made "Curious George" jokes about the beloved commander-in-thief...but HOW PERFECT IS "Furious George?"

Let's see how funny Sean Hannity thinks THIS "anger management moment" is.

Kerry Drives "FURIOUS GEORGE" Meme

Kerry flew into Ohio, a crucial battleground state where he is running neck-and-neck with Bush, and flung red meat rhetoric at a large crowd of supporters at a rally in the Cleveland suburbs.

"Do we want leadership as it's called that can't face reality and admit mistakes or do we want leadership that sees the truth and tells the truth to the American people?" Kerry asked, shouting in a hoarse voice in a performance a world removed from the prosecutorial style he adopted in the debate.

"For me, the most stunning moment of the whole evening was when George Bush was asked to name three mistakes that he has made ... and the President couldn't even name one mistake."

Kerry looked back on Friday's night's debate in St. Louis, Missouri, recalling that at one stage a riled-up Bush cut off moderator Charles Gibson in midsentence to answer one of his rival's statements. "I was a little worried at one point, I thought the President was going to attack Charlie Gibson."

Bush: "I will crush you!"

Bush: "I meant it when I said it the FIRST time! I WILL crush you!"

2. I Noticed That Too...
I was so surprised when the tv spin seemed to be saying people (supposedly undecideds or soft supporters) liked Bush better after the debate.

I'm like, he was rude, he yelled at people asking him questions and seemed to project an attitude like how dare anyone question me.

Last week Senator Kerry made the point that Bush lacks the judgement to be president. Last night, Bush showed he lacks the maturity.

3. I saw Howard Dean the other day ...
and he joked on himself, even repeating the scream ... it was hilarious. I've been behind Kerry since the beginning, but I sure am glad we have people like Dean in politics. He is refreshing and inspiring.

Oh, and "Furious George" is perfect!

12. The Man with the Yellow Papers asked Furious George a question ...
Edited on Sat Oct-09-04 05:45 PM by gauguin57
... and Furious George FREAKED OUT!

"Please don't do that, Furious George," the Man with the Yellow Papers said. But George yelled "Tell Tony Blair we're going alone! TELL TONY BLAIR WE'RE GOING ALONE!"

The Man with the Yellow Papers was pissed, but knew that Furious George could have him disappeared in a small-plane crash, so he let Furious George drag his knuckles across the debate-venure floor and grunt his gruntings.

13. It was POPPY who made * do the Monster Mash!
I had only heard the debate on the radio and not watched it until now. I just saw Senator Kerry's comment preceding the Monster Mash Moment. Kerry once again mentioned Poppy (referring to General Tony McPeak, "who ran the airwar for the President's father, and did a brilliant job . . .") and it was then that Monster Bush appeared, uninvited, to frighten poor Charlie Gibson and all the good people gathered around. Good Gawd, it's SUCH an easy way to rile Georgie. Straight out of Psych 101.

p.s. Can someone set Bush's Freakout Moment to Monster Mash? Baahaaahaaaaa!! It would be such a lovely way to celebrate Halloween.
