Another Bush Gaffe? (thanks to high density DUer for the transcript link.)
I noticed this last night while I was watching, but have not seen a repeat or taped the debate to confirm it. Wondering if anyone else here got the same impression of what Bush was about to say..

This was in answer to Nikki Washingtons comments about the aggravation at the US by people abroad:

==What is your plan to repair relations with other countries given the current situation?

BUSH: No, I appreciate that. I -- listen, I -- ... """blah blah blah"""",,,,

------------>I made a decision not to join the International Criminal Court in The Hague, which is where our troops could be brought to -- brought in front of a judge, an unaccounted judge. <--------

I don't think we ought to join that. That was unpopular.

===

did his feeble walnut almost bring him to say BROUGHT TO JUSTICE?

1. I caught that one. He was stringing cliches together, almost
spliced in the wrong one.

2. He's probably more worried..

..about being charged as a war criminal himself than concerned about some poor grunt being hauled to The Hague.

3. Good point. That's what it looks like: "brought to justice".
However, he is the commander-in-chief & it is he who should be brought to justice. This is a selfish man & he's only protecting himself.

6. Favorite Gaffe (least I HOPE it was a gaffe)
My personal favorite is:

Uh, let me give you a couple of examples I guess of the kind of person I wouldn't pick. .... Another example would be the Dred Scott case, which is where judges years ago said that the Constitution allowed slavery because of personal property rights. ...The Constitution of the United States says we're all - you know, it doesn't say that. It doesn't speak to the equality of America.

Funny -- I thought that the Constitution (ok - with amendments) most definitely speaks to the equality of Americans.

Not so funny was that he ALSO referred in this segment to Dred Scott -- i.e., "code for the WrightWringers for Roe v. Wade. See, e.g., http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=132&topic_id=1024453

7. He mentioned the International Criminal Court in BOTH debates!
But, he never did give an answer regarding how he would repair international relations. Nor did he provide "3 mistakes he had made as president" in response to another question.

Gee, I wonder why?
