Why Do We Even Need a President?
Edited on Sat Oct-09-04 08:50 PM by louis c
1.6 Million manufacturing jobs have been lost during the Bush Administration. Nearly 800,000 overall. Bush says that it's not his fault.

The deficit has grown to record numbers, over a half trillion dollars a year. Bush says that it's not his fault.

After nine months in office, and numerous warnings, even his own 9/11 commission cited him for some responsibility to the terrorist attacks in September of 2001. Bush says that it's not his fault.

Health care premiums have risen by nearly 60% in three years and 5 million more Americans are without health care. Bush says that it's not his fault.

The price of a barrel of oil is up nearly 40% in less than a year, and gas prises as well as home heating fuels are the highest ever. Bush says that it is not his fault.

The war in Iraq was conducted after using an excuse of an al Queda link to Saddam and his possession of Weapons of Mass Destruction. That premise turned out to be false, by all accounts. Bush says that it's not his fault.

The war was fought without the proper troop levels, as stipulated by administration and Pentagon sources, which resulted in a hellish quagmire. Bush says that it's not his fault.

The United States' standing in the world community is at an all time low. Bush says that it's not his fault.

Our environment at home is more polluted now than at any time in our history. Bush says that it's not his fault.

Medicare premiums have increased by record amounts in each of the last two years. Bush says it's not his fault.

Social Security is at the highest risk in history for future generations. Bush says that it's not his fault.

Wages for the average worker in America have been reduced in real value, and the jobs that are being created pay 20% less than those that were initially lost. Bush says that it's not his fault.

George Bush and the Republicans control the executive branch of the government, and with that every department. The military, the treasury, labor, education, the FBI, the CIA, the Pentagon, every damn department in the government. They control the Senate, and every committee. they confirm everyone for everything. Every committee of oversight of every department in government. They control the House of Representatives. Every committee, every spending bill. When it comes up, when the vote starts, when it ends, every hearing, everything, all the time. They control the Judiciary, including the Supreme Court. What's constitutional, what's not, what can be heard, what can't and even who should be President in a disputed election.

Since this is undisputed fact, how in heaven's name can George Walker Bush say that all the problems facing this country are not his fault. They control every morsel of influence and power.

It can't be anyone else's fault but his, by definition.

If Bush is correct, we don't even need a President, we might as well just let things happen and save the billion dollars a year it costs to run the executive branch.
