About the Iraq war. Why isn't more said about this? |

In the Persian Gulf war of 1991 we had the following:
Around 500,000 US troops.
Around 160,000 Coalition non-US troops.
The gist of the war was to kick Saddam out of Kuwait and restore order to that country which, by the way, is around the size of New Jersey.
Fastforward to the Iraq war:
Total coalition forces, probably less than 200,000.
The gist of this war was to take out Saddam, his Republican Guard and loyalists then restore order and bring democracy to a country twice the size of Idaho and with several factions of people there.
Is it so obviously aparent that bushco irresponsibly planned the war and the peace and to put less that a third of the troops on the ground to to significantly more work. And look at the results. The 1991 Gulf war aside from putting our raging fires from oil fields, was a success. The Iraq war, we will be lucky to avert a civil war.
DUers may have posted this in the past but I think it at least bares repeating.

1. Defense budget is for defense contractors not |

...manpower. DOD was downsized for corporate profiteering from a bloated budget.
