I kid you not (first and foremost I want it to be known that I am NOT a Democrat for Bush!).
Over the past two days I have run across 3 Democrats who are voting for Bush (I am still dumbfounded at this). Thay all had the same reason why to vote for Bush "to keep us safe".
I can understand a Democrat who doesn't Like Kerry & won't vote on election day because he Just doesn't like Kerry, but in my opinion to go out & actually for for Bush given his record, I can't believe a Democrat would do that. I could see a Democrat voting for a Rebublican in a Presidential election (one who was a moderate) but Bush? Is it possible to brainwash the masses? Someone please help me understand this.

in Iraq, so they must think that he's going to come over to their house with his AK-47 and sit out on their porch while they sleep. Do they ever say exactly HOW Shrub is protecting them?

Kerry has like 89% of the Democratic vote, so that's good, and I think Bush will be lucky to get an equal percentage of Republicans.
But, that "keep us safe" line, and that "finish the job in Iraq" line. Fhew! They just aren't thinking. Maybe they have lots of loaded firearms lying around the house and a few pitbulls guarding the baby crib to keep their homes safe, too.

15. Point the following out to them |
|
9/11 happened under the bush watch. When bush first took office he was given a report by the Hart/Rudman commission which they threw away. That report warned them of the al queada threat
bush ignored all warnings up to 9/11 about what would happen
after 9/11 bush waited two months before going after al queada and ohsama bin laden, and then lost them in Toro Bora because they delegated the work to war lords
bush moved most of the resources from Afganistan to Iraq, which at the worst possible case was NOT an immenient threat
In the second debate bush would do the following:
1. Not allow drugs to be imported from Canada 2. Reduce air polution standards 3. appoint Supreme Court Justices which would overturn Roe V Wade 4. Prevent embroyonic stem cell research 5. Not give companies incentives to keep jobs here 6. Is against partial birth abortion, even if the life of the mother is at risk
Anyone who would sacrifice liberty for security, deserves neither, paraphrased from Benjamin Franklin

21. Did we watch the same debate? |
|
I thought Bush said he would OK Canadian drugs after the FDA had completed its findings for safety...sometime in December.
I must have missed what he said about pollution standards, but it would not surprise me if he will relax the standards.
I distinctly remember he said there will be no litmus test on abortion, but he would demand theat the judge interpret the laws and not make them, IOW a contructionist.
He is definately against new embryonic stem cells to be used for research. But did he say the 22 present lines of cells will be allowed to continue for use in research.
He made no promises to help reduce incentives for companies to outsource, as Kerry is doing. When the moderator asked Kerry how can a American company pay a local programmer $70/hour when in China they can get the work done for $15/hour. Kerry said, there is no way to stop outsourcing, just skew it in favor of those who will keep jobs here.
You have stated Bush's position correctly on PB abortion.
Just want facts stated correctly.

His fear mongering is ridiculous. He wants us to fear whatever and introduces the Patriot Act, but he does nothing about making our borders safer. Has anyone awakened to the fact that he is one hell of an idiot?

22. We still have a lot of conservative Dems who vote Repub for President |
|
There are still a lot of old time conservative Dems (DINO's) in the south and in conservative areas in PA and OH that still vote Dem in local elections, but vote Repub for President because the national Dem Party has "left them". These people haven't switched their registration yet. That is why we never have as high a percentage of Dems voting for the Dem Pres candidate as Repubs voting for the Repub pres candidate.
And then again, there are many moderate Dems (and even some liberals) voting for Bush because he has terrified them into believing he is the only one who can protect them. 9-11 really fucked up a lot of people's heads, people you would think of as rational and sensible, people who now put their heads in the sand and willingly trade freedom for fascist "protection".
