Any inside info on exactly how General Electric pressures NBC News?
We find bias in most all media coverage, but after the second debate, it seems apparent that NBC is setting itself apart even from other media (forget Fox). From Brokaw down -- Russert, Matthews, even The Today Show -- it's there. NBC has no "Sixty Minutes," or "Nightline," which fairly often present important stories, does it?

We have information about Jack Welch in the studio on Election Night 2000, encouraging a call for Bush. And there are stories about Welch's delight in "turning" Democrats Russert and Matthews (who now own houses, along with Welch, on Nantucket). But Welch is gone now, replaced by Jeffrey Immelt. I'm just curious if GE doesn't have to exert pressure, that NBC News personnel simply know what is expected of them if they wish to continue to thrive at the company. Or if there are memos, phone calls, private conversations, etc.

1. electrical diodes on their nibbles
while standing on boxes, stripping them naked, underwear over their faces and forming naked pyramids while Jack Welch stands behind giving "thumbs up" for photos.

2. I know that Jack Welch personally negotiated Russert's contract ....

and when Brokaw was asked about Welch he said something like "he signs my paychecks" ... the pressure can be indirect; do as the master (Welch) wants and get a nice reward/contract (Russert)
