4. Curse them, one and all. End of rant.<<
Oh please don't stop.... that was a beautiful thing... wanna rant some more? If you have cable... do check out the links at the page I posted... Ruppert vs Art Bell on the whole 911 agenda... the whole war on terrah agenda... it is an absolute work of Art.... and Mike... pun.

If you download and listen to the WHOLE thing... it was a speech given at a University.. forget the name right off... this is the audio to the video... anyhoo... if you listen to the whole thing.. there is no way in hell that you won't convert it to wav, make audio disks and give it to EVERYONE you care about.

There is no way... absolutely NO WAY a freeper could hear this whole speech out and come away unchanged in their heart of hearts. No way.

This is the RED PILL, trust me... I am burning copies to send to my friends and relatives... it goes along with the book on U.S. foreign policy "The Grand Chessboard" and together, they paint a real picture of what the war in Iraq is about, what the end of the cold war signalled, and where extremeists in our govt are trying to take us.

Last two links here... roughly 30meg each audio in MP3 format.

http://www.bordergatewayprotocol.net/jon/media/audio/Art_Bell/

>>The most shocking part of this book is the author's blunt statement that what the U.S. truly needs to awaken public opinion and lead to the kind of initiative to seize control of oil rich territory he deems necessary is a calamitous attack on the order of a Pearl Harbor. This came about with 9-11, which occurred after this book was published.

For many years spokespersons of the left and right were derided for a panic mentality and in some instances paranoia for daring to impart the conspiracy element into world politics. The author is a definitive insider connected to the Council on Foreign Relations. The statements made in this book corroborate conspiracy fears as the world is approached and analyzed with scant disregard for the citizenry with a strong emphasis on the planners, the global activists who are prepared to move on the scene and determine the future. These individuals do not appear to be concerned about listening to public opinion, but are concerned about shaping it to fit their pre-conceived images of global necessity.,,

5. Nice rant.
Allow me to add to your excellent list of adjectives the following: mendacious, self-satisfied, unprincipled and arrogant. I've given up watching the Sunday talk shows because they add nothing to my quality of life; in fact, they only encourage me to think terrible things about the current state of our so-called free press. The Sunday Circle-Jerk of Gasbag Pundits is the most disturbing and infuriating manifestation of the decline and fall of journalism because there's so much brain-dead bloviation inflicted on the airwaves all at once. I am consoled only by the fact that their market share is really very small.

Hey, Timmy, Cokie, George, Wolf, and the rest of you Bush-fellating bastards: You suck, deeply. All of you.

7. Thank you! My sentiments exactly. I have stopped watching the Sun
morning gossip fests because that is all they are. All the ones you mentioned think everyone hangs on their every word. I wish I could buy them for what they are worth and sell them for what they think they are worth.

8. WELL THANKS A HELLUVA LOT PETE
I decided to blow off going to church this morning, drink my coffee and watch the morning talk shows, which I never do. Now I'll have to stick to the crossword puzzles. Sheesh. Actually, my blood pressure is probably much better off. If you want to feel better read Keith Olbermann's blog about the last debate, I laughed out loud. -Redwitch

10. the good news in all of this
is that no one watches cable news and sunday morning political shows anyway unless there is an invasion.

Does anyone remember when they were a child, all the strange places their parents would take them? How about that food court at the bottom level of the mall? There was always that one area that no one ever went in. It was the area back near the bathrooms, or off in some corner. It felt strange. Why did it exist? It was just this space, lost in time, off by itself.

Or how about the corner of the Ben Franklin store that felt like no one had ever walked back there? All the items on the racks had dust covering them - the 1970's backyard blow up mini pools and the box of lawn jarts.

That's the sunday morning news shows and cable news. Let them stew in their own time warp, collecting dust.

16. I read Keith's blog
Lot's of fun, especially the "scoring part" and now we know that Bush is the "typical" small businesss owner who will have to pay slightly higher taxes under Kerry. Too bad most Americans will never know it.

Although I don't know why you watch those MORANS. Anyway, just watch, when they're forced to discuss Kerry's victory they'll be able to do so without pained expressions. These people are WHORES. They'll say whatever they need to say and look like they're enjoying it.

13. You just saved my day
I was going to watch today since I wanted to see Edwards. Forget about it now. Do the networks even wonder why they have such poor ratings for these shows.

I will enjoy when the Kerry administration excludes these liars from any access to newsmakers. No off the record comments, no invites to exclusive parties, just a total shunning of the rw whores.

14. I watched Pox "News" and the O'Reilly Factor for the first time in my life
the other day. I don't have a TV in my home, but was in a hotel the day of the debates, and Pox was the only English "news" channel available. I have not watched TV for like 14 years except for when I was visiting a friend or acquaintance that was watching TV.

I have read many of the thoughts and opinions that DUers and other sources have put forth about Pox News being RW, and was aware that Pox is a republican owned shill factory, but I was genuinely not prepared for how obvious and childish this despicable RW propaganda "news" channel is.

The little written slogans they use to drive home the absurd verbal points of the idiotic talking heads are like what a 3rd grade teacher would write on her blackboard as mnemonic devices for her/his young students to more easily retain information. The propaganda techniques used on Pox are blatant and despicable.

And very, very insulting to anyone with half a brain and a modicum of common sense.

In a democracy that had publically owned, propaganda free news media, Pox "News" would be nothing but a comic, political satire. Because any semi-informed person could not take it seriously, and would find it laughable.

But it is brainwashing a significant number of naive and gulloible Americans, and this is not a joke.

On O'Reilly I believe I heard him say that "France is our enemy", and that the words "France is our enemy" were written on the screen as well.

I was literally shocked and horrified. I have not previously been exposed to the "talking head" phenomenon, so I am not "anesthetized" to it, and OMG. IMO, any halfway decent parent would keep their kids as far away from a TV as possible. The degree of obvious RW propaganda that Pox "News" puts out is so alarming to me that it causes me to wonder if RW media is also using advanced "special effects" visual and aural technology to subliminally brainwash Americans. If Pox can so blatantly, and legally, present this Orwellian/Soviet style of propaganda to influence our politic system, what is to stop Murdoch and people like him from using audio/visual effects to do the same?

And O'Reilly is a nut. From what I saw, he is the Rush Limbaugh of television. A republican, RW propagandist paid by a RW corporation to spin information in order to convince people how they should think, believe, live, and vote, even if it is against their best interest.

I now have a much better grasp on why a significant number of Americans support an inept, corrupt, dishonest, and clearly unintelligent un-elected leader like Bu$h.

What a bunch of bullshit. We really, really need to take back the media.

18. It was interesting to watch Fox morph
Edited on Sun Oct-10-04 02:21 PM by Scoopie
When I first left journalism to stay at home with my son, I watched a lot of Fox News - this was in 1999. They were feisty and tenacious and made CNN look boring and trite. They also weren't wildly to the right.
However, as the years wore on - the Clinton impeachment and the Bush election grab - they began slowly morphing into the beligerant, spoiled neo-conservative child they have become.
I could see how they were trying to play with peoples' heads: they were new, fresh and exciting to grab the viewer and then ever-so-slightly began to fill canivorous skulls with the pap of shills.
I watched Bill O'Reilly move from someone I could truly say was an Independent leaning right to the screaming demon he has become. Sean Hannity was more civil to Alan Colmes only to turn into the hate-monger we witness daily.
It's a shame that so many people let themselves become brainwashed. The whole thing is truly Hitler-esque.

24. Zorra that was an intelligent and well written post. It helps articulate
the propaganda and brainwashing points I have been making. We need to take our government back and the go after the entrenched Rabid Radical Right wing nut elements that are currently in control of our country and media. Wouldn't it be nice it Anyone in power gave a crap about the peoples' interests?

15. It was like watching a car wreck--couldn't look away, but was painful
to watch the spin and lies. Cokie Roberts takes the cake! What a lying Bush whore. For her to say that Bush had all these people around him after the debate and Kerry was standing alone made me want to toss the tube. :argh: I just can't stand her.

17. I can't do it
Edited on Sun Oct-10-04 11:17 AM by chookie
There's not enough Compazine in the universe to keep me from gagging watching those idiotic shows. I never use them for content, only to "monitor" what the NWO wants us to think, but even so, I can barely stand it. Truly, they are loathsome and ridiculous. Where do they find so many assholes?

DUer Gloria Lalumia, God bless her, watches all these programs and gives a summary of their content, so we don't have to. One of these days I am going to ask her how she keeps from vomiting -- I imagine it's some procedure like the autopsy scene in Silence of the Lambs :-)

Mind you -- I don't even TRY to watch O'Reilly, Coulter, Hannity. Impossible to do so. I don't know how anyone can watch them.

Charlie Rose -- that's the talk show I watch. One of the few places you can catch an intelligent conversation on broadcast tv these days.

Back in the days of the Cold War, I used to love to monitor shortwave broadcasts out of the Soviet Union. Their news programs were always a HOWL! -- absolutely hilarious. Everything was so successful, and everyone was so happy, and production was up 358% this month, and nothing ever went wrong. If you thought something was wrong, well, *you* were mistaken and you were openly mocked for your stupidity. I never imagined I would live to see America broadcast media adopt the Soviet "Pravda" model, but here we are. Occasionally, it resembles the "Comical Ali" model, don't you think? Do Bush and Cheney and Rice know they sound as goofy as the former Iraqi Information Minister? I guess they're hoping they don't, at least not to everyone.

A woman I met recently, who grew up in the Soviet Union, told me how alarmed she had become about the way news is reported here. She said, as Russians we understood it was all a bunch of ridiculous lies, but Americans don't seem to get this.

More and more ordinary people I know, who do not look beyond broadcast media for their news, have caught on that it is total bullshit that is not to be believed -- just using their own brains and the smell test. Some of them have never voted before, but this year, they most certainly are.
