Global Warming is a hoax!
Edited on Sun Oct-10-04 09:09 AM by Catch22Dem
So says Tom Coburn (R-OK) the guy running to replace Don Nickles. Here are some other zingers:

"I can tell you, without a doubt, I think global warming is a hoax...I think it's a bunch of garbage." - Fredrick Town Hall 8/21/04

"I favor the death penalty for abortionists..." - AP 7/9/04

"The Department of Education should be abolished." - Ponca City Town Hall 6/16/04

He's also said the film Shindler's List was pornography. FDR's New Deal "opened the floodgates for federal spending." He doesn't think a Senator should bring federal dollars to his/her state.

But the really sad part? His challenger, Brad Carson (D-OK) isn't much better. Brad's barely a Democrat! Maybe Brad's running his campaign this way, so he can win as a Democrat in Okla. (no small task) and will actually be better than he sounds. Either way, he gets my vote. We need the majority. We need the committee chairs.

2. typo?
You've characterised Coburn as 'D-OK'. Surely he's a Republican? OR are the primaries still going on in Oklahoma?

9. Yes, he's a prick!
IIRC, someone from Okla. (I think I read it on Bartcop, or maybe it WAS Bart who did it) put a Gore/Lieberman sticker on Inhofe's horse right before the xmas parade a few years ago.

..are like in Oklahoma. (ON EDIT - Never mind, after reading edit on the original post)

Are people who advocate abolishing the Department of Education for NCLB or against it?

10. It gets worse...
Check this out. Oklahoma has one of the worst public education programs in the nation yet 42% of Oklahomans find a lottery (gambling) where money goes into the school system morally objectionable.

POLL STARTED: 10/1/2004 6:00:11 PM --- POLL ENDED: 10/5/2004 5:00:11 PM
On November 2, Oklahomans will vote on a state lottery to raise money for education. Do you think Oklahoma needs more money for its schools?
Yes - 57.72%
No - 42.28%
