In more than two decades of public service, Republican Bill Jones of Fresno has been a strong advocate for the San Joaquin Valley, and we think he will represent the region well if he's elected to the U.S. Senate on Nov. 2.

This isn't just about Jones being from the Valley. He showed in two terms as secretary of state that he can represent all of California. That's crucial in a diverse state of 36 million with challenges greater than many countries face. As a Valley legislator, he learned to work across party lines to get things accomplished, and that prepares him well for the Senate.
