Battleground states poll map - very good news!
Here's an interesting map of the battleground states. It's based on recent Zogby state polls.

http://online.wsj.com/public/resources/documents/info-battleground04.html

Look at all the BLUE!!

Kerry's leads in Minnesota, Iowa, Michigan, Washington, Oregon and New Mexico are impressive and generally much higher than polls have shown over the past couple of months.

In addition, the only three where Bush is ahead are all within the margin of error.

Momentum is a good thing.

1. But I am still concerned..
..that in many of the polls Bush is still keeping ahead. In the latest ABC poll he is 5 points ahead of Kerry, and Rasmussen consistently puts him ahead by a similar margin. His Job approval is also upto 54% according to Rasmussen. Thats not in the comfort Zone for Kerry.

4. forget rasmussen, say our experts
a machine talks to the citizen... it is only good for changes in trends, never for absolute "who has how much support"

clear as mud? LOL

3. Rasmussen is a Republican toady
After the Republican conference he showed Bush with only a small bounce , within the MOE . He could tell the truth then because there were other polls to push Bush .

Now that Bush is trailing in most of the polls , his ethics have left him and he is doing all he can to help shore up Bush's campaign , by skewing poll results to show Bush leading .

5. National polls aren't as important as state polls,
though many other national polls show it tied or Kerry ahead. Most of the state-based electoral total sites show Kerry ahead.

Rasmussen seems to be the only poll showing Bush's approval rating that high, making it suspect.

Re: comfort zone - no, I expect that there won't be a comfort zone, because it's in the media's best interest to show the race as close to keep ratings up. So, they'll make a big deal out of the polls showing a close race and ignore any significant progress for Kerry on the state level.

6. no offense
but why worry about what Rasmussen and ABC say? All the other polls have Bush approval rating below 50%.

15. Don't look at approval rating
look at the "reelect number". As far as I know, it's still in the low-mid forties.

7. I'm amazed at TN
how did Kerry get so close? That's impressive. And I'm really happy that MO has gotten so close; it feels like only yesterday that it seemed out of reach.

8. since when is washington a battleground state?
bush doesn't set foot here except to collect checks from millionaires, and i have yet to see one commercial.

cheney goes to spokane, but neither of them have the sac to hold a public rally in downtown seattle.

they're NOT contesting washington.

13. I was surprised at that myself.
Most of the polls have shown it close for weeks. It'll be interesting to see if Zogby's next round of polls shows a similar lead. If so, Kerry may have some serious momentum going into 11/2.

16. This is the Wall Street Journal: an editoral page that is a Republican rag
And they still use Zogby instead of any other polling company. If the Wall Street Journal shoots themselves in the foot that shows you how respectable Zogby is. This is great news.

17. Excellent news. I live in and campaign in NH, and recently NPR reported
Bush ahead. Makes me want to stop working all together and volunteer full time, but living indoors and eating are still pretty important.
