Brainstorm: Focus on things that can make a difference
I got to leave to go canvass but I wanted to get this thread started.

LTTEs

Canvassing

Flyers on cars

Phonebanking

Driving people to the polls on Nov 2

Things that will not change anything in the time we have left.

Complaining to CNN, MSNBC etc.

1. summarize arguments into one sentence, for better debating for canvassers
make our guys and gals more effective by giving them better comebacks to citizen questions.

eg. bush will draft.

kerry bled, bush fled

bush will freeze again when your town is attacked... like Pet Goat.

2. Something Karl Rove said
A month or two ago, I was driving back from NYC to Boston listening to an interview with a reporter for US News and World Report who interviewed Karl Rove. The reporter said that Karl Rove believed that there were 4,000,000 Evangelical Christians who did not vote in 2000 in part because a last minute scandal involving Bush's drunk driving discouraged them from turning out. Rove believes that these people will turn out this time around.

We need to do what we can to encourage these self righteous bigots to stay home again. A good self-righteous moral argument against Bush is what's needed. Bush as a liar is the obvious one, and the easiest way to get that info out is via email.

Who are our best writers at DU? Who can put together something short and punchy and to the point? I have an Evengelical Christian friend who would gladly send out something to her right-wing circle if it spoke to her old-fashioned values.
