It's the generals' fault.

Hey Dubya*, why did you send our children to Iraq without the gear they needed?? "Well, heh-heh... I asked the generals before the invasion if they had everything they needed... and they told me yes Mr. pResident, we do... so if our troops don't have body armor, or armored vehicles, or anything else they need, it's not my fault - it's the generals' fault... heh-heh...*

Shameful.

1. All of those generals who have retired are publicly supporting Kerry
and probably most of the active generals are silently supporting Kerry as well (they're not allowed to say anything against the president while they are still in the service).

I thought that comment was pure spite on the part of W. His family never forgets a slight and they repay disloyalty with revenge.

Organized crime family tactics.

2. Right, that's why Shineski (sp?) was fired when he told them it was going
to be a fiasco and they needed more troops. RUMSFELD was the one that said no, they wouldn't been needed.

7. He wasn't fired. Too bad we can't stick to the FACTS!
Kerry needs to stop this mis (dis) information. The general wasn't fired. Even Wes Clark had to admit it in the spin room after the first debate. Yes it's a nuance, but I think the American people are tired of being presented with complicated nuances from BOTH sides in order to make a not so valid point. I know I am. Just state the truth and stop using Gen. Shineski as a crutch. We have enough going for us that we don't have to stoop to misleading. It just turns into talking points and creates a diversion for the media to continue to blur the issues. geez.

8. Kerry never said he was fired. The poster did.
Kerry has consistently said "they retired him early."

12. Okay, have it your way, they didn't fire them, they just force him to
retire. They got rid of his truth-telling ass all the same. And I'd be damn willing to bet that it wasn't his ideal. Force retirement, being fired, not a whole lot of difference.

14. It's not "my way." Another poster suggested that Kerry's been saying...
...that Shinseki was fired, and that it is "misinformation." I was saying that, if Kerry had indeed said Shinseki was fired, it would indeed be "misinformation." But he didn't. JK said the general was retired early. So Kerry wasn't lying.

He wasn't fired, but he was called a traitor by some neo-con in the room.

11. I'd love Kerry to look him straight in the eye and say
Edited on Sun Oct-10-04 01:33 PM by calimary
"it's NEVER your fault, is it? Exactly where DOES the buck stop, then?"

And WHY is Kerry NOT using "The Excuse President" more? I haven't heard it ONCE since the debates began. Not once. And I've watched and taken notes.

13. In the final debate I fully expect Bushy to blame my granddaughter
for the mess is Iraq. She is only seven years old, is missing a couple of teeth, cute as a button and not particularly political but somebody has to at fault, might as well be her. BoyGeorge will HAVE to blame someone and so far he has already blamed everyone east of the Mississippi except by granddaughter. I'm a democrat, I'm pretty sure I was included in the everybody but me category, but Miss Blue Eyes hasn't really taken any heat yet so I figure her time is coming. She probably is guilty of playing too many games of hide and seek and let Iraq sneak out the WMDs while her eyes were covered.
